Great suspense as they try to leave the caretaker's place. I was going to congratulate you on the name of the B & B until I read the author's notes. Great chapter.

Thank you so much, Pearl. Funny about that B&B, I did some research into the area and found this very popular place. When I first posted the novel--a while back--the owner of the B&B actually joined FanStory just so she could tell me she was watching me! Ha, I wasn't quite sure how to take that since I talked up the place in my notes. Anyway, thanks for the grand review. So glad you're finding the novel interesting enough to continue to read, Pearl.

Okay, I got goose blimps already. Your characters are convincing. What a tough crew with a strong bond. Everyone has their talent and their contribution. And they all want to head into trouble sooner rather then later. Watch out ghosts, here they come. I have a feeling the ghosts think they are ready for them. Looks like it is going to be quite a struggle.

    Hi, Debi

Thanks for this delightful review. I appreciate you being specific about what you liked, too, which is always helpful. Love it: 'Watch out ghosts, here they come.' Hehe.

I nearly missed this one, Bev.
I go back when I can as I am not so strong at the moment.
Is this a new book or just edits?

As usual your effective writing puts the reader in a sense of ease in immersing oneself into the narrative even if,like myself, I have not followed the beginning.
A calm chapter by your standards, yet it is necessary in the build up.
A good write.
Best wishes ,
Bev.

Thanks, RG. I really appreciate your great review, my friend. I'm sorry to read that you aren't feeling well. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!

This is a re-post of a novel I started before my recent one, and I'm editing the chapters as I go.

    Warmest regards,

    Bev

I don't care how powerful Charles Bellingham believes himself to be, I will kick his phantom ass if he attacks you again." ... love it!

This story has a Scooby Doo feel to it - without the cartoon slapstick, of course!

I HAD to pop in and get caught up, Bev. Terry left this evening. Still wallowing in the surreal joy of last week.

Dying to dive back into FS. Starting with you.

Looking forward to the next chapter, my dear friend.

Hugs and kisses,

Sonali

It was especially nice to meet with Terry. She is a very lovely lady and so very kind. I'm glad she had a good time as well, Sonali.

Thanks for your great review. I appreciate your encouragement and support, as always. Your suggestion is a good one as that section did have an awkward feel to it.

    Thanks much, m'dear.

    Hugs, Bev

I love the supernatural and loved this well-crafted piece you have shared. "Stick to you like a post-it note" Brought a little bit of cheer my way. Thank you for sharing and God Bless!

I nearly missed this story (it was on page 4 of my lists) I don't know why? Here now! The first thought of the look of Jenkins Porter was 'Lurch' out of the Adams family! Nothing worse that being talked about when you are the victim like Mia. I felt there needed to be a lead up to Mia's fall? Maybe I missed some of your work before - anyway, I am really enjoyed the posted ghost on toast! Well done Mama-San.

Hi, Kay. Thanks for the great review, my friend. Lurch is an interesting comparison for Jenkins Porter. Have to think about that one. I appreciate your support and generosity. :) Bev

Bev,
I missed this one first time around. It is holding my interest and leaving me looking forward to the next chapter. It just seems to be moving so fast. Feels like Mike and Mia are going to be the stars.

Thanks, Dallas. I appreciate your taking time to read and for your comments. Though Mia and Mike will get a bit more 'forward', I'm taking my time with the character development. But, as far as the action goes, when you're on a case, things can move very fast.

    Thanks again, my friend.

I always enjoy your descriptive details, like her "closed face...shut a mental door against further psychic intrusion". I think Mike made the right decision to have Mia checked out at the hospital, and I liked his "post-it" simile! Cheers-- Joan, from Tahoe

Thanks for your good wishes--we took a short drive along Lake Tahoe today before my husband's speech, because the wind shifted taking the smoke with it. It's quite a vast body of water even with the level being down due to the drought. Looking forward to more laughs- Joan

I like the way you are slowly and methodically developing the characters and the back story before a frontal attack on the action the reader expects in this type of genre.

Mia's gut punch and her head injury was enough for this chapter to develop the suspense that will carry us into the next chapter.

Great pacing, dialogue that is spot on and enough narrative to move the plot forward.

You've got a winner here.

Hi, Jay. Thanks so very much for this excellent and detailed review. I so appreciate your perspective on the pacing and development. That means a lot coming from someone I think does that exceptionally well! I'm traveling with limited time on the Internet, but I will get to my inbox as soon as I return. Thanks again!! :) Bev

This was another exceptional chapter. They are really going to have their hands full with Bellingham. He doesn't want anybody in his house and will do whatever he can to push them out. Can't wait to see what happens next. We are off to the races and I know you have something terrific planned for this group.

Hi, Lindal. Thank you so much for this awesome review! I'm very glad you're enjoying the story so far. I have some interesting, shall we say, things planned for the group. I really appreciate your support and encouragement, my friend. I am traveling with limited access to the Internet right now, but will get back to my inbox as soon as I get home. :) Bev

I am going to be home for another ten days and then its back to Baltimore for a couple of weeks to take care of my niece who is having surgery. I joke with my sisters that I retired from nursing, but I am always going somewhere to be a private duty nurse. At least I can offer them something. LOL

I knew I liked you for more reasons than you're great writing, Lindal. My two sisters are nurses, and I was the office manager for a surgeon for 25 years! I think nurses are angels on earth! Hugs, Bev
