Your poem is written in an interesting manner. I liked the theme of your writing because I like birds too. Also I've often wondered why God made the male cardinal such a beautiful red and the female brown. No doubt there is a reason for doing this. Thank you so much for your lovely poem,

Pretty. It's clear that you have a love of nature, or atleast of cardinals. It is beautiful how you point out that the simplest of things are all creations of God, and that they are amazing. Keep up the great work!

I love the picture - love Cardinals too.
Your poem speaks of your admiration
for this very special bird and how it
"entices you to the natural world"
Nice flow to your free verse - very descriptive with
clear images.

You have good imagery and a good flow with your poem-the cardinal is my favorite bird too but you inform the reader that the female cardinal is brown with a red beak and the state of Virginia has the cardinal but I can say that I have never seen a female red birs--I found this poem to very informative--great job.

The picture illustrates the poem well. I was a bit confused by the "but" in the first verse - why not an "and" with "follow you "as," etc.? The last verse needs more introduction, in my opinion, and some explanation of the allure. I liked the impression left by the poem as a whole.

hello mermaids,

i enjoyed reading this delightful poem. i, too, am in awe of the cardinal and its beauty. i know spring is here when the cardinal arrives.

this poem reads and flows well. i particularly liked the following:

your red beak
may attract a mate
but I follow you
an exquisite entity
of nature
(this is exactly how if feel too. in my own howm, i roam from room to room following the cardinal's flight.)

a beautiful poem. regards, LateBloomer

I enjoyed reading this poem for review. The cardinal is one of my favorite birds, as it was my husband's, who was pretty good at imitating their call. Great poem. Thanks for sharing.
