This was really fun, Alvin. You wrote an entertaining lecture that wasn't at all boring and filled me with information that was easy to learn and remember. I enjoyed the characters portrayed and the funny dialogue. I can't believe how much I have already learned in your class. And it's so fun. I like your unique teaching style. This was really fun, Alvin. You wrote an entertaining lecture that wasn't at all boring and filled me with information that was easy to learn and remember. I loved the dialogue and the humor which made this a fun and easy read. Bravissimo sir! Not only did I learn more about haiku, but I learned more about how to write a story. It moved along well, held my attention till the end and, of course, made me laugh!

The art work is excellent and the words extremely creative in
every way. I loved the way how the story was told, I guess
the substance and flow of the words, demanded my attention.
The examples of Haiku had great telling words.

We don't speak Japanese (My sister-in-law is Japanese, but I still don't speak Japanese.)
You breathe in on bodacious brat, out on steals girl and in on empty room (Okay, Alvin, I can do this if I whisper the words, but not if I speak the words out loud.)
I enjoyed the glimpse of Japanese culture in your lecture. It was a fun read.

This was such a fun and instructive essay and lesson as well. Those ins and outs breathing have me going in here. Each time i talk now I am aware of it. It helps me in the reading and understanding of other writings as well.

You are welcome. I went to the class room and tried to get the black print to come up but no luck. I must be doing something incorrectly. Is it okay to stay bold white?

I'm onto black now! Really enjoyed today's class. I think for mood when I'm writing senryu I'll just pretend that I am in a Japanese bar and am completely uninhibited and am writing sophisticated mockery! That should do the trick! ;-) Smiles and hugs, Purr ^-^

Ohio Gazamaz Alvin-sans! As you know, I lived in Japan very happily as a child for three years and loved the experience. Eeechie, knee, sans, show, gee...! I loved our session on Friday. It was deep and insightful and you have captured it well in this essay. You have also captured my dreams of learning about haiku in a deeper and more meaningful way. I loved the humor in this piece and the tongue-in-cheek bantering between you and Hiromi! Great examples. I question only (in an otherwise fantastic piece that I am thrilled has received such high ratings from reviewers I respect) the spelling of "breathe" and "breath." (What a minutiae comment on such a wonderful piece LOL)! I believe the noun is "breath" and the verb is "breathe"? Hugs and look forward to Monday. Sue
