This is beautiful Marijke and earns one of my precious gold stars. The meter and rhyme and flow were wonderful...but the message...oh my! Heartfelt and lovely. A beautiful love poem, my friend! Hugs, Sue

Marijke, absolutely lovely poem conveying a profound message all of us should heed. This has got to be the winning entry on the A Love Poem contest. Very strong rhyming quatrains reflecting so much love and tenderness. Loved the switch of words in the last stanza. Outstanding work ! Good luck in the contest, my friend.

Sigh, what a write girl. In a way, it is very sad and yet it has a happy content to it because you will say things you want to before leaving this earthly place. However, we must take the time to say and do these things now, everyday, so there is no chance, not even the slightest for regrets. Love your thoughts here and pray it never happens.

I really liked your poem with its profound theme and its pleasant rhythm. I don't think that young people ponder its message that we should express our love before we go to the next world. I'm also a great grandmother and I hope I'll be ready when the time comes. It's the grand journey. Good job.

I used to say the If I should die before I wake prayer every night for years as a child - your poem is such a fascinating reverse play on that
Your lines have a good steady cadence and your rhyming couplets are strong
This is wonderfully romantic, Marijke. brooke
