Hi Marijke, I'm not sure how I missed this one before but I can see why you won the contest. A very poignant piece that puts the reader in the speakers place and let's them feel the pain and heartache of the situation they are under. Very very well written and presented, my friend and a superb piece in every way!
All my best,
Warren

Your poem was super.
I write my poems but I'm not a poet
I don't understand poems and I know it
Here I am reading and trying to understand
This is hard for me, it's much a demand
Most all my poems come from my heart
The poems are with love and stand apart
I post my poems for people to see
I know your comments are to help me
My past poems are fact and true
I appreciate your help and thank you

Joey, thank you so much, and you are a poet, my friend. I don't consider myself a poet, there are others much more talented than I. Yet, this poem, like yours, came from my heart. You can't do any better than that! Thank you so much for this very generous six star rating. Warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Marijke, this is truly a work of art. You are so right to think that each chance to say important loving things to people must be used, because we simply don't know when it will be the last. Gorgeous presentation, perfect meter and rhyme, strong message, great execution. Congratulations on your win.

This is a poignant love poem that pulled at the old heartstrings.
A sad thought, but beautifully expressed in perfect rhythm and rhyme.
Congratulations on your well deserved win.
