Fionageorge take a bow. I am so serious. This is a true masterpiece and the while and whole world should read your poem, especially churches, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. I am so in awe of your poem, so shocked at its spirutual and profound message of loving and last goodbyes. Perhaps you should market and advertise your poem. BRILLANT! SIX STARS! lol liberty justice

Liberty Justice, thank you so, so much for your lovely comments and that string of stars. Today is our 49th Anniversary, and I have made a card and put this poem in there. With him being down to earth, I had to explain in detail that I wasn't planning on dying just yet... just that this is what I would want him to know if I was... It took a bit for him to grasp the concept! Thanks again, my friend, and warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Strong sentiments of love under changing circumstances, re-evaluations of things acknowledged under a different view of perspectives. At death's door.

Comment from Poetic Friend
This well-written poem reminds me of a prayer.
Your poem, structured in flawless meter, is so endearing and affectionate. The repetition and lack of punctuation work well to convey your message and compassion.
I love your last stanza.
Thank you for sharing.

A very well-written poem. Congratulations for winning the contest. That is something we should think about often. We should live our lives in a way that when we die, everything must be said.

How very touching and beautiful are
your words and the message you bring.
What if? Who stops to think of things
like that? Maybe we won't have that chance
to say goodbye or I love you. Oh, what a
horrible thought!
You brought this together so tenderly. Thanks.

I seriously tried to grasp the depth of feeling in this poem but failed to do so. Perhaps it is my personal problem with it, or, just maybe, it is because this poem, I believe, lacks the right words that would make it an excellent reading about such a deep, tragic, and intense subject. My mum was in a coma before she died. To tag such insipid and overly sweet thoughts to someone in a coma is, I feel, out of place and offensive. However, I commend you on the nice try to poetry. Keep at it. Thank you for sharing.Oh, and yes, good job on the rhyming.
