I loved this one, very interesting author notes about the skystone. Turquoise is one of my favorite semiprecious stone. I have a few pieces I love to wear. The rhyme is great and each line is easy to read and flow nicely to the nest. Anne 1204

Hi again! Neat that you own some! ") Wow, I love jewelry made of turquoise. But it's something I would not wear. I get too dirty and grungy. Maybe someday I will get a rind! ") Thanks again Anne!! ") Susan

Hi Susan :)

Well executed, structured with a universal message and a touch of American history.

The picture serves the piece quite well

I liked the way you crafted your stanzas and the font and color is easy to read.

Good writing.

Ted

I loved this piece Sue!! I do think I'd change out "she" to "did" in the second line, but otherwise, marvelous and educational. I had no idea!! Excellent!!

Su,

It seems I'm always apologizing for being such a poor fan. I've been remiss once again, but I promise to catch up on those pieces of yours that I've waited too long to review. I like this poem very much. Next to haiku, rhyming couplets are my favorite kind of poetry because its something my prosody-ignorant mind can understand. Excellent work.

Hi Susan. Well, what a super and very kind-on-the-eye poem.
A really delightful read, and, are you familiar with the
blue ridge mountains? I saw them in a film called: Kissin'
Cousins! An Elvis film. But your poem just sums up the real
tranquility of the mountain scenery.
Well written, Susan. Best wishes and God bless you.

Hi Darryl! THANK YOU! What a kind review! I love it! I wanted to tell you, the mountains in this poem would be out west, in Arizona, maybe the Superstition Mountains, or something? Like near the Grand Canyon? I do love the Blue Ridge Mountains tho, full of some bad AND good...hillbillies. AND i love Elvis too. Thanks Darryl. IT's great to hear you liked this one ! ") xoxo. Hi Susan. It sounds like the film:
Deliverance? With Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight, and the other one. When
they ran-in to some really nasty hillbillies! The best hillbillies I've known are: "The...Beverly Hillbillies". Striking Black Gold!
Take care Susan. God bless you all.

Hi Susan. I've just been informed, the "WINNER" of a very recent Halloween contest, was also a SPONSER!!!! How predictable, eh? Take care. From Darryl.

I think it is fascinating that you never needed to use the word "turquoise" in the body of your poem because of all of your other descriptions and fine storytelling. Thank you for sharing this Native American tale in rhyming couplets.

Well done! THis sounds like it should be an American Indian legend. You have described the mother's grief and the miracle of the turquoise well. Excellent read. Best of luck. Blessings, Linda

A delightful poem that I felt emotions for those in it.
Your rhyming was unforced and your poem flowed throughout.

Good luck in the contest.

This is also a great entry, Susan. I may have went without the puntuation but I see no problems with it. Nice going on this.
