Hi Susan. Well. In Dreams! I do remember a song; by the
late-great, Roy Orbison. But, how spiritual? And quite
soul-searching? Rather brief, but SUPER. I was actually
a choir boy! And, sang solo on several occasions! Then'
my damn singing voice broke, and i was promntly' booted
out! Sheer sacrilege! So, no Junior Showtime stardom, for
me!!!! But, lovely poem, Susan. Take care and God bless
you. Love from Darryl. Aka/(Alf).

Well, that's a shame Darryl. That reminds me of Barney Fife, (Andy Griffith show) WHO loved to sing, but could not, and was unwanted in the choir! A hilarious episode! Thank you so, for a great review!! I love hearing from you! Susan

You're very very, welcome. Have a
    very peaceful evening. Love from
Darryl. PS. I will be reviewing a
lot more. But, I won't be writing
any more scripts. I want to concentrate on my POEMS! So, goodbye' scripts?

Susan,

What a cool tanka. I used to write these things in college and never cd get one to sound right. Great job. It's the weirdiest thing. I almost chose this photo to illustrate one of my pieces not more than 30 minutes ago. Great minds think alike at time.

Susan,

What an interesting tanka poem you have composed.
How did you come up with this idea? I read it
several times. You have beautiful alliteration
in the first and last lines and you leave us with
a nice rhyme in the end.

This is a very intrigueing entry,

Linda

Hi Sweet! Thank you! I really don't know Linda, this was a fun one, but I have been doing them wrong all along, so I read the notes by AlvinEthington, who said they should sort of change midstride? I don't know. Thanks, this review is great!! HUGS! Susan

    Is it about ghosts?

I just read Alvin's notes - he said the pivot can take place in the 3rd line - which yours does.

I am no expert - this does look like a winner to me - I mean that!
Besides - the judges like you:)

") ? The judges? I havn't won a thing in forever! ") Did you know tho, one of my poems was nominated for poem of the month? I was shocked. I rarely get over 15 reviews for anything. Bless your heart, tho, it's nice to see you have confidence in me! HUGS! Susan

selected for that before, didn't you?

Hi Susan :)

Excellent work here. I'm out of "sixers" or you'd get one.

The picture enhances your verse quite well. It's haunting effects works.

I don't know if your did the last two lines right or not, but the piece is good.

Ted

Susan,
I'm not going to comment about whether it is right or wrong as a tanka because I'm not an expert about poetry forms, but as a poem, I liked it.
Love the image that is soooooo cool.
Love the sounds.
Flows well.
I like the rhymes.
I like the title.
And I like the last line, I think the best.
Good luck in the contest.
love,
katie

Very nice tanka, realist... It think the "turn" works here and the change from night to day comes out smoothly, without abruptness. Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.
