Well, I don't mind not being told about these tiny things. I find them blooming difficult to review ... however, I am making an exception in your case, because I want to ask you to READ your own words, please. LOL. Pat. xxx

LOL again! This was for Alvin's contest to write about a religion other that Christian. Hey that's why the teach it, should I go to one of their classes?

Thank you for the review Pat. That gave my haiku enough for a ribbon. You didn't see these because they were blind entry contest. Plus my goodness with so many fans that you have, how would you keep up?
reply by patmedium on 01-Aug-2010
My fans? No, I don't review MY fans ... they review me! Actually, that isn't strictly true, because I do visit them now and then! No, I am talking about the folk that I am a fan of! I review every other day, sometimes because of pressures of outside life, I gallop on the third day to review before they vanish from my message box.
Now, for example, It's four pm, Sunday afternoon and I have 40+ in my message box.
I shall have to pull my socks up and get to work this evening, reading twenty at least, depending on how the evening goes. My life has many extras at the moment, so I can't get in there daily, as I would in the winter.
I choose the folk that I fan very carefully. Folk like Feedleflump, Steven Dee, Sasha, Fictionwriter, Ponder, Vickib, No problem, Marathonwriter etc.
This is because I like what they have to say and how they say it ... more than 80 folk. I don't want to miss a single one of their writes.
Now, because of you, I have discovered that I can still miss loads of posts. Yes,I KNEW about contest entries, but I just didn't think of how that would affect my attendance at everyone's posts.
Sadly, after 24 hrs wondering about how I will manage, I have had to come to the conclusion that I CAN'T visit every single home page often enough. I have, however, made a note to keep an eye on yours because you ONLY seem to write to prompt these days. I have missed your writings and wondered why you had stopped? LOL. xxxxxx

Oh yeah Pat that's what I meant too. LOL Either way, fan of them, or fan of you, it's a lot to manage. I have 15 I think and don't keep up very well. I woke up feeling better this morning after you took some time with me last night. Hugs for that. I only do blind contest now, not sure why, guess I'd like to be judged by my writing and not my name. Don't even know that it really matters though. I admire you so much for being a mother to FS members. I think it's so important for people like me especially to have you here. More hugs ...

I love the message of your haiku and the author notes are interesting and informative. I had not heard of Clear Day before your post. ;)

Nice presentation.

scientology is a religion in my book. its not mine but it has many followers and there is something about too much crap in our heads. a clear head always makes more sense. imagery is excellent. good luck~

Well it sure makes sense, doesn't it? With your mind all cluttered up there is really no time to do any serious thinking. I think I might have a hard time determining what exactly to throw away.

I know very little about Scientology, but have somehow felt that it may have some trash of its own to toss out. But if it encourages its followers to toss out their mind clutter to make room for insight, it's doing something good.

Hi Jeanie. I feel the same way now that I know more about it. It's way out there. Thanks for rating the haiku and not Scientology, don't know what I was thinking when I picked that. At least I know what to say about it when approached on the subject. Maybe it's a hidden message I've written. LOL

Not sure if you were suppose to write about nature or not?? I like the subject you wrote about though and its meaning. We do need to get the bad out of our minds so we can think clearly. Good imagery and keep writing.

Hi Nicole, this was a contest about researching a religious holiday other than Christian - I had been curious about Scientology so this was their Clear Day Hoilday, more info my authors notes. Really went out on a limb on this one. Thanks so much again!

Words of wisdom in your writing. I am currently reading "Haiku - the sacred art A Spiritual Practice in Three Lines" by Margaret D. McGee. She is a Christian but the writing method could be applied to other beliefs. Best to you in this interesting competition.

Thank you Jean, I'm still bothered by the word "the" in toss the trash. Do you think it should be toss out trash? I beat the book is really interesting, I should go get it too, thanks for that tip. Anothe review said it was a good meditation poem, anyway I so appreciate your review, I worked and freted over this darn thing for days. xo

hello author,

i enjoyed this poem in haiku-fashion. there was a broad range of flexibility (poetic license) given within this contest (haiku). i feel your poem should fit within the guidelines.

i found this poem to be thought-provoking ...

no room for insight

Amen, LateBloomer

(oops ... was I not allowed to say "Amen" ??? ... is "Amen" only used in Christianity ... oops ??? ... I wonder if my review will be disqualified ???... oops)

Very good little Haiku poem here. It is shorter than usual but I've seen 3-5-3 syllables used before. What Scientology has to do with it, I don't know.

Thank you, I tried to explain that in my authors notes did I mess that up so it doesn't make sense? I better read it again, thanks again.
reply by MikiB on 03-Jun-2010
Oh, that's ok. It was just too long for me to read well. I just need another sentence.
reply by the author on 03-Jun-2010
Wow that's an interresting approach to writing a review. Although haiku's aren't suppose to need authors notes, right? In this contest most really need the notes, but I do like mine just because I like the message. lol

I like this Gyoji Haiku... Nine simple words.....
One BIG message.... And it's so true our minds can be cluttered with trash... But, at the same time they can also be cluttered when we don't allow room for insight..
And other points of view... toss the trash.....
You've said it well.... Bryan
