Curt, you are so right. This poem is so funny and many people do scratch their butts unknowingly and unaware at times! LOL.
I am sure we scratched at other places too, unlike the ladies - I am sure they also scratch in private too, lOL.

Even babies scratch - if their short hands can reach those body parts!

My serious question is this: "Will anyone who never scratch their butts please raise your hand?". Silence. Jaws dropping and no one would admit it, Curt.
Poor souls , they never did find the gold nugget that Scratchy did. :))))).

Excellent funny write. Next come the gold diggers. These gold diggers don't scratch, they dig.
My mom always asked: "Why are you digging gold in your nose? Stops it before liquid red gold oozes out". She really said that!

So who is the greater of the two? The scratchy or the diggers?

Cheerio, Ritchie.

I think it is a toss up my friend! I wrote one called Boogers Too, actually that was the first one, and since so many asked me too, I wrote a sequel to "Boogers" called "Poo a la Poe."
Both of them are (supposed) to be funny, but you must be the judge of that!
    Thanks my friend,
    Curt

Yes, Curt, I came across "Poo a la Poe" and wanted to review this one but I just had to read "Scratchy" first to find out - being the inquisitive riot in me, LOL. Okay "Poo a la Poe" will be next on my list.
You have a wonderful BRIGHT day.
If you need someone to watch the dough, let me know (my charges are very reasonable, my friend).
    Ritchie.

Reading is my pleasure - you are indeed putting dough in my pocket to learn poetry styles. Cheerio, Ritchie. Until next time my friend.

What a fun poem! I really liked it. My mom would always ask us "You going to the show? You're picking your seat.", whenever we would scratch our ass. I really enjoyed reading one like this, for a change. Good job1

Your poem put me in mind of a poem by Robert Service, about a Sam McGee who also was itching for gold. He ended up getting his "goose" cooked.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

While your poem is quite different, and original, it is similar enough in character that you might consider changing Scratchy-ass's last name.

Wow,how about that? Scratchy had a brother!
I had no idea there was another work of a similar type and with the same name in it.
Believe it or not, this work started as a serious piece, but the minute I wrote the first line, the second popped in my head, and well, the rest is history.
I'll have to see if I can think of a decent replacement. If not, Sam's gonna have'ta share the limelight with his long lost brother.
Thanks again for bringing me this info, I truly do appreciate it.
    Sincerely,
    Curt

Ha ha, it rolls off the tongue easy, dances around in the mind conjuring up hilarious images and provides great entertainment Curt. I think it was a whole load of itchy and scratchy fun, well done!

Thanks again buddy, always good to hear from you.

Oh man... way too funny. I really needed that to cheer me up right now! I think you've inspired me to try my hand at something a little happier too (looking at my portfolio I noticed that it was depressingly serious).

Brilliant stuff... what a guy. I actually burst out loud when I read:

for often he would "scratch and smell

The image was just wonderful. Keep the funny stuff coming!

Haha, you are a man of many talents Curt. Quite a change from some of your stuff! You should have entered this one in the recent contest. Forgotten exactly what it was called now but the gist of it was to write something "eeeewwwww...."
Hilariously revolting - I loved it.
Kind regards. Sally

I write in many formats and styles, hoping to be equally literate in all. My portfolio (like everybody's!) is full of funnies. I just don't promote all of them!
Thanks for stopping in to share your thoughts my friend,

Read your profile notes, but alas - no fours from me. Loved this. Don't think it would ever work as a song in the real world, maybe around the "hill-billy" camp fire - but as a poem - it is simply a work of art - hillari-arse!

Thank you very much for your kind comments my friend. I do give out the fours, not because anything is bad, just not quite "excellent."
There is a whole subculture of raunchy country and western singers, Rodney Carrington comes to mind. You think thiis bad, it's tame in comparison to some of his songs!
Thank you again for the rating and remarks, I am honored.

I loved your author notes, Have you found gold yet? Wonderful.

Great imagery, flow and rhyme. with good presentation.

Haha a very enjoyable read. Quite humorous and unfortunately it does remind me of someone bleh. I'd be interested to hear the song if you come up with one. Well done.
