In Jesus eyes, we are never insignificant. We are the pearl graven in the palm of his hands; that wound there is the pearl, he did it for us, so now we are in the palm of his hands, bless you, may the goats be blessed and produce even more milk.

Wonderful story, and very much touched my heart. Only confusing part was where it started with "Tell my daughter she is not insignificant in my eyes ..." Only that paragraph was confusing, and I believe it should have been better explained/developed.

Again, very touching.

Thank you so much for the review. Other reviewers seemed to understand it, but I'm sorry it confused you. It was left open on purpose -- it could be for anyone needing to hear those words.
    Thanks again.

I love what you wrote. It has the elusive ability to reach into someone and touch a part that often goes untouched. For me, it is a reminder of my own personal relationship with Jesus. There are so many people I wish to help who are directly connected to me so I know that feeling. You are a great writer (Im sure you already know that) and I pray that you continue to do what you do.

I thought the story was rather touching although I am left wondering is this a young child, a teenager, or an adult woman? I thinkt hat some clarity in that respect might have helped me to visualize what was happening and to whom. Hope this helps.

Awe, what a lovely message, Janilou! It's well written and not too 'preachy' either. A nice way of showing as opposed to telling. Nicely done!

Thank you for lightening my heart with your story.

How easy it is to become burdened with life's every day hassles and forget that we have help right by our side. Your story was overpowering, just a beautiful easy reminder.

It touched my heart. Especially when reminded that no one is too insignificant for the Lord, not even the tiny sparrow.

Thank you for sharing. Carol C

Please be patient with me, since this is my first review of some prose work. I assume this is part of a chapter of a longer book. Without having read the book I can only comment on this extract out of context. As it stands I love the start. Jesus can reveal himself in the strangest of places, even when you're milking goats in a milking parlour. I love this combination of down-to-earth, comical reality and serious issues.
However, after the brilliant sentence " Even with the King of Kings standing there, the goats still needed my attention" I feel that the writing became a little wooly! Your initial comic touch was watered down into what I can only describe as too sentimental. The conversation with Jesus may be all very comforting for a Christian, but it hardly makes for good reading.
Have you read any Flannery O'Connor? You could learn a lott from her. Your opening could even have come out of one of Flannery's short stories.
Good potential, keep at it

Thanks for the review. No, this isn't part of a longer book. This is a stand-alone short story, and it's posted as such. I appreciate your comments, but it wasn't meant to be a comic touch. I've never read Flannery O'Conner, but I will see if I can find some of her work.
    Thanks again,

Thank you for reminding me with the message that no creature on this earth is insignificant and that Lord Jesus loves each and every creature.

I feel the line- "I didn't 'arrive.' I'm with you always, remember?" could be better if quoted as-
"I didn't 'arrive.' I'm with you always, don't you know (or) remember?" Just my opinion.

(Out of sixes, but surely this deserves at least a ten.)

Your little essay certainly helped pick me up. I'd been feeling wrong all day and didn't know why. Why doesn't matter I know now. What matters is that I was hurting, you prayed for me, and "He loves you." I can picture him in that barn with the barn swallow. Surely, then, He cares for me too. You surely do use your writing gift to do God's will and for the greater good. Thank you that I was included in your blessing today. May God bless you always. Maryellen

Amazing job, Janilou! I know this story really opens the eyes and hearts of people. It's such an inspirational and loving story, it just makes you FEEL good. But you're 100% right, even the littlest creature may feel insignificant, but in God's eyes, they are FAR from that. Thanks so much for sharing! God bless,
JessicaAshley
