Yes, its a duty of us all who have lived the best childhood, to light up the lives that have gone through dark phases. Its easy to go with the flow not caring about others but a true life is the one that feels other's pain as much as their own. Wonderful expression of concern toward such an important issue through poetry. Childhood is the most beautiful time of life people, don't be a reason for stealing it away! Loved the poem. Beautiful.

I have gotten to know her because I had to do that to get well.
Depression is not easy to deal with and until you know that it is a chemical imbalance and not a disorder than you seek the help you need.
Writing did it for me along with talk therapy and I NEVER took a drug.
Sometimes it is stuff that had never been dealt with from the past and you have to go back to move forward.
Your poem says it all and so much more.
Thanks for your imagery, metaphors and the respect you used to write this. Send it to your State Mental Helath bureau.

yes, realizing it was a chemical imbalance was important for me to understand -- sometimes my depression is caused by my chronic pain -- thanks for sharing -- love, jan

I gave you 6 stars, because I believe in what you write. I know all about emotional scars. They truly do affect who you are. Sometimes not meant intentional, sometimes yes they are by some very cruel people. Thank You for inspiring me. Janalea

I have never been abused as a child, and am forever grateful. However as a mother your work touched a frightened spot in my heart. I know all too well how it feels to leave your child in the care of others, and hope and pray the you've done the right thing and used good judgment. Your message is strong and important. The work itself flows well, had wonderful emotion, and provokes the reader. Great work.

This is both profound and beautiful. I found myself stunned into silent reflection. We do all share such common bonds, and it is our responsibility to help those who have not yet found their voice. Awesome done. Bravo

A lovely poem. Looking inside oneself and finding the blame is not with the little child, trying to shake off the shackles that pin us down. NIce, V,xxx

Wonderful poem about a horrific subject. I was not a victim, but my sister was. Her subsequent journey has been long and difficult. I pray for all the Little Ones, regardless of their age.

More important than the contest, is that your poem be read and the message heard. Nonetheless, I also wish you well in the contest.
