Willie,
This is a very beautiful poem. It is sad to know the lighting bugs are going away.
I remember when I was a young child, I would capture them in a jar and watch them glow.
Great job my friend.

Hi Willie, beautiful display! I'm glad you shared a memory of your childhood how you watched the lightning bugs. I liked your italicized wording too. It reminds me of the twists and turns of the bugs. Is the lightning bug becoming extinct? That will be too bad, they are pretty and give a good display at the river. Dove

According to scientists, there are fewer and fewer each year. Too sad.

I love this poem, around where I live (UK) there are no fire flies. One day I would love to see some.
Thank you, Willie, for sharing this poem and bringing them to life in my minds eye.

Your poem takes me back to the days of my childhood. In the nice warm summer evenings as a child we would go out into the yard and we would catch lightning bugs and put them in a jar. They were so much fun for us as children. I enjoyed your poem very much. I don't know how to straighten out the picture for you. Patricia.
