Your positive attitude, hard work, and determination are well documented, as you share so willingly here, Jesse. How kind of you to loan your brother your favorite walker! Despite any obstacles (furniture or medical) you push forward and keep pursuing walking without a walker...and I, for one, absolutely believe you will achieve this!
You ARE ready to walk now. Your FanStory family wishes you all the best as you come nearer to that goal!
150 steps! That's awesome! You go, Jesse!

Thanks, Karenina, for your caring support and encouragement.
Today, I walked 127 steps. Tomorrow, I will try for more than 150 steps, but who knows, the sky is the limit!
My caregiver, Denise, is witness to my progress and she is as proud of me as I am of myself!
Enjoy the weekend!

You too, Jesse!

What a heartwarming post.
The story gives no information on what put you in the chair, it's not needed. You are recovering and that is the key thing of this post. For that, I wish you every strength, hope and perseverance.
Youv'e got this :)

Thanks for your encouraging review. Strength, hope, and perseverance are all I'll ever need on my quest to walk again.

Another fine write, Jesse, and one I can relate to. People don't think, making a short trip an obstacle course to be run. That's why I hate going anywhere I'm unfamiliar with. Souds like you have getting back to walking free and easy soon to look forward to, and hope for a good outcome for you

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your good wishes for a good outcome for me. I like that term, walking free and easy. Doing this will make my dreams come true.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Nothing can stop you from achieving your goal, not even an occasional nightmare. Your constant determination during the past few months, as caregivers came and left, and as you continuously exercise, will defeat any subconscious dream you may have. It's your constant determination after surgeries and through disappointments that has you optimistic now. Surge on to victory. Dreams really do come true.

I always wish you well, Jesse. You never need to ask. I think the progress you're making is phenomenal, and you should be very proud of every step you take.
Your nightmares are normal. It's just fear of the unknown. It's all of the questions that are undoubtedly going through your mind. "Will I get out of the wheelchair permanently? Will I be able to walk without the walker? Will I be steady on my feet? Will my life really improve?" With all the effort you're putting in, and how much you want positive results, the answers to all those questions will undoubtedly be "yes." Positive thinking, and willingness to put in the effort, are your two best allies, and you have both in spades.

Thanks, Michele, for the encouraging review. I am willing to put in the effort as well as have positive thinking on my side. I suppose you are right. My nightmares are questioning my ability to walk. I must answer them with a resounding yes! That way I will walk for miles with a smile on my face. Last night, I dreamed I was running around with a wheeled walker in front of me. Wow, I was having fun!
I am looking forward to the day when I will walk with nothing in front of me.
Thanks for your support, my friend.

Always and ever, Jesse. I love your attitude!
Comment from DonKip
Very encouraging and uplifting. You could juice this a bit by sharing just one other challenge you face in the apartment (or outside) while awake and the vision you have overcoming it when you see yourself walking. Having a challenging goal and reaching it can be very cathartic. Good luck and all the best in recovery!

I wish you all good luck and hope. Do the work but do not overdo, that can damage you. I am so very happy for you.
They need to make tall walkers. Put me behind a grocery cart and my sister has trouble keeping up with me. Keep up the good work. Karen

Marvellous to hear of your progress, Jesse. I can only imagine the frustrations and fears that stand in the way. Keep at it! You have much to celebrate in these early successes.
In Panpipes, my most recent book, one of the main characters loses a leg in an accident. Trying to chart his rehabilitation was a major stretch of the imagination for me.
All good wishes, Tony

Thank you so much, Tony, for the six stars and exemplary review.
Stretching our imagination is good practice for us writers. I am honored that you compared my post to your novel, Panpipes.
You honor me as well with the outstanding rating and review.
Thanks for your good wishes.

With daily practice, you will succeed Jesse and your nightmares about the stumbling blocks are encouraging you to overcome the obstacles and win. I practice standing on one leg now as I could not do it before, but perhaps this is a step too far for you just now. I wish you luck and never give up. You will look back at your progress and be proud Jesse, an encouraging post, love Dolly x

I have a prayer list that I use each morning, and you are now on it, Jesse. Never give up, I know that I did not have to say that. I can feel your strong spirit in your writing.
