Hi again, Bill. I love this. If I had a six star rating to give you, it would be yours

So clever with the nets splashing against the windshield. Later, they'll probably be hosed off or cleaned off with a squeegee. Such is the life of a bug.

I really enjoyed it. Great job.

If gnats are growing that big these days, thank what a bumblebee might go. I havent't had anything meet its waterloo on my wind sheild lately. Best I remember it happens more when driving at night.

This is a clever 5-7-5 poem

How very clever and well thought-out, combing some history with the waterloos of today, I could say great artwork, but I won't, very well written, (yes) and presented****kahpot

Such a sad tale. Seems like many participated in their final flight. Thank you for memorializing these unknown gnats, who now have flown into the pages of History.

I watched them die and only wished for a wider windshield.

Having done the same many times, I cannot throw stones. RAID maybe, but not stones.

Ha Ha Bill , Very original and a humorous ending for this 5-7-5
It seems though, that they never learn from history ( a bit like man)
and are still hell bent on flying onto our windscreens and grills
Cheers Chris

Something about the definition of insanity comes to mind.

Splat!
Unsightly blotch
Guess who?

Good one! You always come up with offbeat, cackhanded subject matter. It's refreshing to read something that isn't about the beauties of nature. (I'm allowed to say that, 'cos I write about those.)

Napoleon Gnat has not learned the lessons of history. He was destined to meet his Waterloo. Great last line--Windshield Waterloo. Excellent alliteration, and excellent wording. I don't like those critters. They are certainly a distraction when you're driving. judi

No gnats would be a nice change.

Good one Bill. Clever words in the poem. Unfortunately for the insects, it's their own mass destruction, not the glass. Well written. Best wishes.

Ha ha ha, splat comes to mind here as these little insects bite the dust in a battle they cannot win against those speeding cars, a fun post Bill and I love your sense of humour here, love Dolly x

You no doubt of heard of and possibly even read, "Pop goes the weasel!" Well in this case, "Splat goes the bug and his companions." Never has a bug given me more pleasure than to see them smashed against my windshield.
