Your carefully chosen words describe a scene so beautiful I can easily envision it. I feel the cool wind blowing over the hill, and can see the beauty of the flowers. You have set a scene perfect for reflection and meditation.

This is in a simple, classic rhymed quatrain form with very regular meter, but I think you used it to good effect in capturing the slowly turning windmill movement. There's also plenty of color in it, bright flowers in the bright sunshine, upbeat, and hopeful and full of the joy of life. estory

I appreciate the invitation. The scene you described so eloquently was indeed a very pleasant one, and I totally enjoyed the view. And so you know I will be looking forward to my very next walk with you.

-Very nice artwork and presentation, Willie.
-A well written poem with good imagery and rhyme.
-It flows well from verse to verse.
-I can picture all of the flowers and the windmill.
-I like the second verse about enjoying
the flowers even though you can't name them.
-I also like "water under the bridge" and
the invitation to walk with you.
-I will gladly take you up on
that virtual walk.
-Very well done, an enjoyable read.

It's been a while since I read anything of yours. I use to receive notice, but not anymore. You removed your photo, but I remember your being a m/c patrolman. May life be extended. I see you are closing in on a century. Tom H

This is delightful Willie, grasps onto the anticipated flower of spring that I'm sure all are eager to see sprung very soon after a long winter!!
It has a sort of musical tone to it that was very enjoyable, well-done
Best Wishes
Nicki

Even though I'm not a huge fan of rhyme, I appreciate the appeal to nature in your work. The tone of the piece is quite calming. Thanks for taking me on a walk today.

You probably had an awesome feeling.
I think of Holland when I see your picture.
Like your picture, years ago according to Atlas Oscura, the iconic windmills that made the American West were innovative and technically profound. Today, in my area, I see wind turbines. But for your
poem, this innovative structure, surrounded by scented flowers was probably very awesome.
Congratulations on being Recognized and good luck with your poems.

I love it. I am especially fond of daffodils and to read your verse reminds me of how truly lovely they are. I wrote a sonnet a few years ago about daffodils and had FanStory put it on a mug for me. It was a splurge, but it's fun to see my writing on a mug.... oh well, this is about your delightful poem, not me. I really enjoyed reading this. Great job.
