This short verse fulfills the requirement of the writing prompt; as such it does a pretty good job of using words to describe the function of the moon's gravity pull on the waters below.

The poem is simple and clear, with a sense of repetition, and I like that the waves can represent our own mortality as well. Well done. Sending best wishes for your entry.

I like how this description of the sea could be just that alone, a poetic and peaceful observation of the finite nature of each wave, but it could also be a metaphor for life itself and the generations that come after each parent... we are here and then gone.

Your beautiful, creative poem reminds us that everything constantly moves and changes. Butterflies change several times before reaching the final stage, the leaves of trees are regenerated with the seasons, and even the cells of our bodies constantly renew themselves. Surely, waves are generated and disappear to make new waves. Great poem.

I loved your concept of everything being temporary, that everything is fleeting. We should learn to appreciate waves, or anything else in life in the present, and not yearn for the past, or hope for the future.

This lovely poem gives me reason to rejoice as I know that with God, no matter how many gain life upon the earth, they are never replaced in God's vast memory. It is said that he remembers every person that ever lived. With that thought in mind, before I contemplated being one of the many human monsters that have walked the earth I would take that sobering thought in mind.

Very interesting. I think having the stanzas and end lines basically repeat saying the same thing, but with slightly different ways was another nice way of calling back to wave and wave hitting the shore. Not sure about the font style. That may make reading challenging for some. I get it, but still.

Good work.

The sea spawns many a metaphor and your observation of the waves has a parallel in life. The construction of your verses reinforces the eternal ebb and flow. Nicely done.
