The true part id the help that my grandfather use to give me. He was a veteran of WWI and came home in one piece.

Paul, I really enjoyed this poem. The flow is terrific. It bounces along at the beginning in a very light hearted manner and then turns to something more serious before ending on the sentimental. Marvelous.

I love this terrific contest entry. Kids have such active minds, they often look to adults for help to understand. That's what makes this poem so true to life, it makes me a little nostalgic for days gone by, before the internet...lol. Best of luck in the contest. :)

This is such a sweet poem and so well written. It makes me wish my grandfathers had been alive when I was growing up and my Dad for my children. I enjoyed the rhyme and flow and what a perfect picture. Thank you for sharing.
