Words are indeed very important and can convey greetings but can also start wars or change their course and lead back to peace.

Though we can show emotions with actions, it's words that will forever get the point across.
I don't write poetry, if you say it's a sonnet, then dag-nab-it, it'll be a sonnet.
Nice flow, easy read, for me that's what I like.

Yes, we would become lesser writers if we didn't have our words. They speak for us and even if they are left unspoken they say so much of what we would really like to say. Thank you for speaking up on what words mean to you.

I realize your poem has recognized status, and that's great. Your poem has an important meaning. I gave it four stars because you say it's sonnet style, but your meter isn't iambic pentameter. It's almost iambic tetrameter, but it's very uneven. There are two types: Untill in the last line of your octave instead of until, and "the power words brings" instead of "the power words bring." Oh, and the first two lines are a question, so that probably needs a question mark instead of a period. I think your volta has a really cool concept. I like the shift from spoken words to more of an internalized understanding.
