You ask a lot of questions about this age old adage. They are all good points. But, I though it was just a metaphor about life seeming darker right before the idea 'dawns' on how to solve a problem.

No, not a metaphor, just a random thought wondering why it would be darkest JUST before the dawn. Then, while researching a definition would be found to say dawn began not at sunrise, as perceived, but the moment the first light appears in the apogee of night, which could be hours before the mark of day. I found it interesting, and further thought what other questions was there people had without an answer. Thanks for your input

I always thought Dawn was synonymous with the time the sun is first seen over the horizon. I know most of the fantasy books use first light as the start of their journeys.

The official answer to the question when dawn begins is when the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the morning, and dusk occurs when the sun is 6 degrees below the horizon in the evening.
We go to sleep with something on our mind and the first thing we think about in the morning are our troubles. During the day we are preoccupied with other things. I know people also think the moon affects our mood and this could be true, but I have never considered that in my life. This is a searching post asking more questions than it answers, I enjoyed the diversity here, love Dolly x

We go to sleep with something on our mind and the first thing we think about in the morning are our troubles. During the day we are preoccupied with other things.
