LOL, I keep forgetting to mention it, but that has to be the skuzziest picture of Dustin Hoffman I've ever seen as your lead picture. He makes my skin crawl.

I felt so sad for Claire. Dana is sure showing her true colors now, though, isn't she? This was a short, but good chapter, Jim.

Thanks, Jay. Yeah that was Dustin in the role of Ratso Rizzo in "Midnight Cowboy" from 1973. Earlier in the story, when he was a skuzzy-looking caddie, E.J. described himself as looking like Ratso.

Oh, EJ's comment about himself would have gone right over my head! LOL.

Yeah, right! I can see how old you are from your picture. Who's that you're sitting with, your great granddaughter? :-)
reply by Jay Squires on 31-Jan-2023
That's my youngest daughter. She's forty-five, but holds her age well. Hey, I'm not that old, guy! Well, I am, but "Great-granddaughter?" Whoa! I'll have my first Great grand in about 3 months.

The writing is good. Dana and her light fingers being the climax is really a great idea. She was hard to like; now we can hate her since she stole from a little girl. And, of course, Dana has always enjoyed making Abby miserable and she has succeeded better than her wildest dream.

You bet she has! And soon she'll attempt to add insult to injury.

Thanks so much for the great review and the stars, Carol.

I did not like the turn of this story at all. Poor child did nothing wrong, and it SEEMS obvious who the culprit was, no? I do hope the cad return the suit in tact. ...............................

She had been warned repeatedly to lock it up when not in use, which she failed to do. She either simply forgot this time, or she never took the warning very seriously. Either way, Abby thinks she needs to face some consequences for her action.

It's obvious that Dana hasn't reformed her sneaky, wicked ways, nor her evidential smartness, and poor Claire has been rebuked by her mother, and has been threatened with some sort of punishment for being careless,, but that sounds a little unfair, but at least the suit has a patent on it. Beautifully wrutten Jim, blessings Roy

Alright, where did you come up with this idea? Excellent. There are many teaching aids in the market place and I have a significant background in the game of golf. Your story is coming around. I look forward to the final chapters. Did I mention the book, Golf in the Kingdom, I think you would like it.

I just thought of it one day. Originally, I was going to put it in a different story that I haven't written yet, but I decided it would work equally well in this one.

I've read Golf in the Kingdom and enjoyed it very much. It may have been the nighttime scene in that book that inspired me to write the early morning scene with hardly any light when E.J. gets his second hole-in-one.

So now I know how Dana is going to cause trouble with Abby. OH!! She's a bad person. I sure hope Abby comes out of this all right, but I am definitely worried. I can't wait to read more.

Dana is indeed a bad person. Do you think there's any hope for her?
reply by barbara.wilkey on 30-Jan-2023
Nope, she lacks morals and not conscience.

What a bitch, Dana of course.
Somehow Abby has to find out. Can't be through video cameras, I'm guessing that would be against the law in a locker room setting.
I'm curious how you're handling this.
Very well done. John

    Thanks so much, John.

Just wondering: Are you a golfer?
reply by jmdg1954 on 30-Jan-2023
No I don?t. My extent with golf is the pitch and putt on the Jersey shore boardwalk.

Thanks for letting me know, John. My fear has always been that non-golfers or bridge players might not enjoy the story. Earlier drafts had longer golf and bridge scenes, but I have cut them down about as much as I could without losing authenticity.
