Carlos' Girl, this poetic verse of affirmation is quite poignant in each word presented. You have the gift of honest reflection, and a faith that oozes from the page. A laudable poem. Thanks for sharing ...
p.s. for us readers, long in years, a large type font would be of great value.

Maybe you can get rid of the empty space.
This poem paints a poignant and heart-wrenching picture of a widow's love and devotion to her deceased husband. The imagery of the big old house, the flowers left at the grave, and the private tears shed, all convey a deep sense of loss and longing. The author does an excellent job of capturing the feelings of loneliness and isolation that often accompany the loss of a loved one.

Overall, this is a beautifully written and emotionally powerful poem that will resonate with anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

Beautiful poem for your mother. The love, and the grief, do not end. Your poem expresses this well, and the image is a sad and stark reminder. Well done. Your poem flows and rhymes well.

How did I miss this, my girl? This is powerful and vivid with imagery. I can see and feel her pain. I can imagine myself living like this without Jack, biding my time.

Beautifully penned and illustrated with the grave.

Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs

When I saw Carlos' Girl I had to read it. It is a sad poem today, but a good one. It is also an appropriate one with all the dying we have had all around us in the last few years. I always like reading your stuff, so keep on writing.

I could feel the heartfelt sincerity in the well chosen words of this poem. Quite often in life there is one loving partner only, throughout eternity. The memory of that loving partner, even though deceased, sustains the remaining partner forever. This is a beautiful poem of true love.

A very sweet poem and nice tribute to your mom. I enjoyed the even rhyming and the melodic rhythms of this poem, as well as the nicely expressed sentiments. Thank you for sharing it.

Hi,
A lovely poem about a love that has endured for a lifetime. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone always says, "Move on..." sometimes it's just not what a person wants to do.
Well written.
Susan :)

Yes i think it is really insensitive to tell someone to " move on". Some people are very devoted

Your poem is a poignant portrait of grief. We see the grieving wife here, laying those flowers on the grave, believing she will see him again. The pain of the separation and the hope of eternal life are all stitched together here in a simple, straightforward language and solid, classic rhymed quatrain format. estory

This is a lovely poem about connection rather than grief. You paint an image the loneliness of the widow, but in place of sadness there is a sense of hope in the certainty of someday being reunited. It has good flow and reads well.
