I enjoyed the court scene immensely .Alan deserved the forty years and more. The ring looks fabulous .I am sure Cord would propose and Ali would accept.

I can't wait to see what happens when Cord proposes, if he ever does. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Alan deserved every bit of those fifty years. Looks like he will be up the river for good.

Seems Cord got a wonderful deal on the ring, and perhaps cold feet?

Perhaps Alexandra has decided to stay in Texas.

I'm not sure it's cold feet, but worried about how Ali will respond. Thank you for the kind review.

It could have been longer, as far as I'm concerned. I'm enjoying the story immensely and anxiously await the next chapter on the twentieth. This is an excellent story.

This chapter was just as amazing as a previous one that I reviewed a couple days ago .
Again, rich in Theme and imagery.
It also, read well and flowed well with No Grammar Issues.
Thanks for sharing this and have a Blessed day.

It's long, but a good read.

This paragraph didn't flow well, possibly the girlfriend sentence. Maybe make it two paragraphs:

"I am. It's a slower pace and peaceful." Alexandra leaned her head against Brent's arm. "For the first time in my life, I actually have girlfriends." She explained having lunch and actually girl talking. "I had fun. People around here care about each other. When Rogers attempted to have me kidnapped, a friend of Cord's I'd only met once came to my rescue. That wouldn't have happened back home."

(I read the whole thing and all of the transitions were smooth and I didn't have to stop to figure out meaning until here, so maybe a structure rework on that paragraph. Just my two cents)

Really good job here. This was a key chapter as it really advances your characters and the story!

A great chapter, and I am glad that justice was done in that trial. When I saw the picture of the ring at the top, I expected that this chapter would contain a proposal. Now we have to wait.

Events are moving swiftly! Griffin faces a long jail sentence and a heavy fine. Ali prefers life on the ranch to being a corporate lawyer in the city.
The ring has been bought. The next chapter will be vital!

I enjoyed this chapter. Allen got what was coming to him, and so did Pat Rogers. I wasn't surprised about the engagement ring. It's been a long time coming for Cord and Ali. Best, JohnC

Plenty of polish on this chapter, dialogue chocked full of emotion, details of facial expressions and action; true to form, I'd say. This chapter moves methodically along, through the court scene where the villian gets put away, for good, it seems, by the no nonsense judge, to the scene where Cord gets the ring and we get set up for that proposal, to the father daughter scene where the father seems to give his blessing to her staying in Texas with Cord. She seems to be coming to the conclusion that she likes it there, and is ready to leave New York. All that's left is the proposal, it seems. estory

Great chapter with a courtroom scene and a progressing romance. How sweet those two are!

One improvement for your consideration.

[First-degree] murder. Just one hyphen will suffice.
