It is good he believes Bret for he needs someone to care about him desperately right now. If anyone can help him he can. Let's hope he can turbo behind bars!

I'm afraid Dusty's friends were right, it a huge risk taking in a kid that's been damaged by the system. They take a lot of care and bringing them to a place of trust, it takes a lot of patience breaking through the defensive propensities, beautifully written Brett, blessings Roy

It takes a real man to be a Dad as Dusty proved himself to be.
We went through a good portion of these, and many other tough situations.
I have always said if I could be half the Dad Dusty was then I accomplished something in life because he did not have to be who he was.
Appreciate your insights and the review.

This hit home. We took in a friend of my youngest son's a couple of years ago. It was supposed to be for a weeknor two at the most. Turned into two years and some change, but it was the very best decision we ever made. Everyone told us not to do it. Dusty felt it in his heart and we did too. I consider him one of my children. He's 21 years old now. Calls me mom. Loved this chapter. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

You must have managed to charm him without expecting to ever see him again. I not sure why everyone thought this was such a dangerous idea to foster a child. I hope you tell what happened with you when you went back to Hermitage Hall. I'm sure your life would have taken a different direction if this man hadn't taken you on to finish raising.

I enjoyed reading this chapter even though I have dropped into the middle of your life story but I sure would like to read more. Can't wait to see if you foster the boy. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Not the one fostering the boy. Was the boy not only fostered, but adopted, by the man. Appreciate the review. If you want to read previous chapters click on the blue numbers at the top of the chapter.

So Dusty is thinking about fostering. I think that's a good idea, even if everyone else says it's wrong. I think they need each other. This post is very well written, and I really like this story. Thank you for sharing.
