Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Well, when it rains, it pours and alcohol does reduce your inhibitions, and good sense. Being an alcoholic is bad, but being an alcoholic, gambler, well, that isn't a good thing wherever or whoever you are.

Sad, but good chapter with a realistic ending. I like that Eddie tried to reason with him. Hell, everyone did, but when going down that rabbit hole, reason is long gone. I'm glad this chapter didn't have that miraculous Disney ending. Life isn't like that. We usually dig our own grave.

Thank you for your rating here, and as I've responded to your reviews of 44 and 45, I will reconsider leaving it here like this.

There you got it. That "62 member cents (and maybe more)" got me like the rapid-fire clicking of the roulette wheel gets the Las Vegas gambling addict. (You know they could WD40 that wheel so it wouldn't make that noise.)

I should probably say that I had lost four of the last five holes, because Fairbanks hadn't done anything special to win them. [Well put!]

My friend, I just finished reading this with my palms slippery. I was welded to your words! Seriously. You performed the miracle that E.J failed to perform on the fifteenth! This chapter was a hole-in-one ... and I can't even pay my debt with a six!

That's the sort of thing that makes me want to stop reading the story, even though this happens, I can't believe that he would even bother to do that, They say that if someone's heading for the gutter, let them...there's only one place to go, good job, blessings Roy
Typo :This short (of a) putt.

Don't stop now! Tomorrow is the most critical part of this portion of the tale. You may be surprised.

Excellent, as expected. Being "asportual," I know nothing about golf, but you kept me on the grass with rich descriptions of the human experience. I was most captivated by this very realistic accounting of how addictions interact with each other.

Thank you, Nicki. I am so glad to hear that this held your interest even though it was about a sport. That's what I was hoping for--to extend this story to a wider audience than just golfers and bridge players.

What a dumb-ass! His life is going down the toilet along with his up-chucking!

What is going to happen with his life now? Continue drinking? Rehab? How will he and Abby be after this?

I guess we'll find out.
Good working chapter.

So, no college now. He probably would've made the whole in one, if it wasn't for the wind. I am really curious what's going to happen now. This is a very good write and a good story.

Once more, I was led to the precipice expecting A and receiving B. I was certain an ace was waiting to be disclosed, but Nooo. Not you. Now where do you go?
