This is touching and moves me deeply as I lost my mother several years ago and still grieve her loss. She was a wonderful mother and I'll bet so was your mom. I love the simple yet profound way you state your grief and will always remember her even as the years go past.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, Jesse. I appreciate it and your feedback. Yes, my mom was a wonderful woman, too. She taught me so much, and I believe it's because of her influence that I am the woman I am today. Mothers are irreplaceable, and I'm sure yours is smiling down on you. Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D

This tiny poem is powerful in its simplicity. As a therapist, I often told people to "say it in 5 words or less." Not being able to go broader forces someone to go deeper. Thank you for sharing your personal story. I'm sure you did a little therapy with many of your readers.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. As a writer, I'm always trying to think of ways to condense my words--get at the heart of the emotion. It's challenging, but a result worth the effort. Thank you again for reading and reviewing. Take care. :D

There are so many permutations of mother love that one could write love songs for ever and hardly touch all the different memories that word conjures up. Cancer is a hard sentence especially when it strikes a mom. "I love you forever, mom." Touching.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. Yes, I agree; there are so many shades of a mother's love, and everyone's experience is different, so it's almost impossible to say, "this is what a mother's love should feel like for everyone." Thank you again for reading. Take care. :D

This is a very heartwarming poem: short and sweet. I know how it is to lose a parent and it's not an easy thing to go through. Best of luck with the contest and God bless :)

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it and your feedback. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, too. It's never easy losing someone you love, but she's still in my heart, which makes the emptiness bearable. Thank you again for reviewing. Take care. :D

I know losing your mom sucks. I lost mine in 1995 and she didn't get to see me graduate college or meet my wife. Thank you for sharing. Good luck in the contest

Short but powerful. Very plainspoken but sometimes that is just what's needed for a piece to work. Thank you for sharing and sorry to hear about your loss.

That is lovely, and so sad as well. My mother died ten years ago, I can't believe it's that long ago. Your words fit my feelings as well. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Hello there, my friend, I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. No matter how many years go by you always miss a parent when they're gone. My dad died many years ago. I believe our loved ones are still with us, always looking after us, as they stay in our hearts.
Good luck on your contest!

What a loving tribute to a mother who has since passed. I think you did a great job including all the essential elements in this three-line poem. I have a tendency to take commas out after the word "Yet," although it would probably make sense to pause slightly for dramatic effect if read aloud.
