So, E.J. solved his problem, and now he is looking for the hustle to get a quick, or slow depending on the length of the game, five grand.

The question is, will he drink before, and screw up, or screw up and drink after. He's got a car now, so is a DUI in his future?

Nice chapter.

I like the way you speculate.

E.J. Sure got a jolt of confidence after Eddie helped him get over his yips. But 5,000 bucks is a lot to lose. Especially since his drinking has increased. You mentioned to me before that he had his drinking under control, but I would hardly call him a recovering alcoholic. I didn't find any spag. Good job.

If I said he had it under control, I only meant that he could carry on fairly normally while under the influence, but he is definitely still a drunk. He needs to hit bottom first before he can truly begin his recovery.

Not being an alcoholic myself, or even much of a drinker, this is new territory for me--writing about an alcoholic. I had to do a lot of research to be accurate about the disease, and I hope I got it right.

I'm not a golf person but I have been following this story. I look forward to the next chapter so I can see how the golf match comes out. I hope you let the main character win.

Thank you so much, pbb. I'm just delighted that a non-golfer is looking forward to a golf match.

There's nothing sweeter than revenge, I was always a competitive soul, and where else to gain revenge than in a sporting match or something similar. I love this post, it got my competitive juices flowing, what a big bet, how did EJ get so much money, beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. By my calculation, he has about $28,000 in golf winnings that he has socked away for college. A win here will just about give him enough for 4 years of college in those days.

I'm pretty sure he won't yip, if he doesn't drink, but I'm not sure he can stop drinking. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait to see what happens during this golf match.

The next morning, I woke up around 9:00 (The following morning)

Okay. So EJ has some new found confidence... probably from losing the yips and from the booze.

Only time will tell.

Nicely done chapter.
