Easy to read, light and definitely not boring, it brings out my imaginations on my own love stories how I was treated and how I was made to feel and if only I was made to feel important cared for.

Excellent court scene. I like this chapter. It seems like Mr Allen is not aware of the abuse that is going on. He is such a liar, I hate liars. Thank goodness Ali is a good attorney that understands the pros and cons.

Well done!

I'm going to hate to see this one come to an end. I've enjoyed it from the beginning, but I am sure I will enjoy the next novel as much as I have this one. I'm glad about the trial's outcome and that her father represented her. Best, JOhnC

I have resolved to catch up with this year and do better by you. My eyes are going fast and it seems that my promise to you can only be a week at a time. I'm wondering if I can finish my book. It may be my last but I'm going out with a bang!

I like your story and your characters are good folks, an extension of yourself. I need to catch up and get more clued in. I have missed a lot.

One thing I would add is the need for more telling, balanced with dialogue and monologue. My copy editors, both of them, stress the balance of scene setting, telling the story, and the use of dialogues and monologues. For instance, my characters thoughts are puts in italics. It creates a connection between the reader and the character and brings them alive.

I hope this is helpful and does not offend. I think you're doing great!

I look forward to catching up with you, Barbara-!
Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs

My character thoughts are put in italics. It's funny about editors. Mine likes me to use more dialogue because narrative is telling not showing. I guess it's a individual thing with editors. Thank you for the kind review. I'm sorry to hear about your sight. I will continue to pray.

I guess I'm more accustomed to reading or viewing court scenes with juries that I had to backtrack a few times. But that's on me.

I found the flow of the chapter moving in a sequential order and detailed.

Very well presented.

Thank you for the kind review. Alan didn't feel being from NYC he'd get a fair trial with a jury from a small western Texas town.

I think this was the best chapter yet Barbara! The courtroom drama and tension was wonderful! I found the courtroom and legal jargon easy to follow but with a great authenticity to the proceedings. I like the little addition at the end of Brent offering to represent the next couple which would likely land Griffin in hotter water still. Thanks for sharing your work!

George and Brent should not have been there to defend Ali. This just shows how much the family has tried to protect Ali when she's capable of arranging for her own lawyer as well as managing other aspects of her life. Also, there was the surveillance footage that nailed Alan. He deserves all the punishment coming to him. Alan really didn't manage to present a good defense. Good point about the shoes. He wore shoes whereas almost everyone else wore cowboy boots. It was good that Ali had the support of the women she'd helped. Great handling of the courtroom scene. This really deserves a six, but I used mine already. judi

Thank you for the kind review. I couldn't see Ali having anybody but her dad and grandpa there. It just seemed to fit. She was surprised they were there.

You're very welcome. To me, she doesn't need that kind of intervention from her family. I'd like for her to send them away. judi

This is excellent. I really enjoyed it. It deserves a six, but I don't think I have any left. It sounds as though this case had been proved and Alan will get what he deserves and likely lose his law license.

Hooray! It's good that Ali's father and grandfather could be there and that they were perfectly able to represent Ali. It's clear that justice is being carried out with all the evidence needed. I guess the next case is for the arson that Griffin did. A very satisfying court room drama!

He grinned watching Alexandra hugged her grandpa (watching Alexandra hug her grandpa -- OR -- watching Alexandra as she hugged)
