I enjoyed the creative way you chose to have the deceased young man tell the story. His feelings and emotions were believable and understandable. All three of your characters were well developed and realistic. I really enjoyed the story.

This story has an interesting perspective, from the point of view of the dead lover, watching this struggle of the relationship of his former friends. There's this sense of poignancy of life, of frustration at not being able to take part in the joys and sorrows and struggles of love. A frustration at not being able to lend a hand to the girl in need. There's a staccato quality to the short, abrupt lines, hammering through these scenes that takes some of the emotional flow out of it, I think. In some ways that's good, maybe in others bad. By removing the emotion, you give us even more perspective of these people, we watch them like we are watching facts unfold on a news story. But it's also harder to connect with the characters as readers. It's a fine balance and you have to decide where you want to fall on either side of the line. But this is an interesting mechanism for telling this story. estory

What a lovely story! It ended perfectly, as it should do. He had to let her go in the end, and she had to move on with living. Finally, the living did get together, and she admitted to herself, then to him that she returned his love. Lovely, bittersweet ending. Lovely story! Well done, Sandra xx
