This is a lovely story. We all need an uplift from time to time and it often comes in the most unexpected ways. No doubt both Eloise and the little bird lady had their spirits lifted too.

Beautiful, and so totally spot-on! Children are the best commodity on the planet. That's why I feel so lucky to be around them every day. They truly GET what the whole point is of everyday life. I'm glad Eloise stopped in when you needed her most. This was a lovely vignette.

Those who are sick with diseases, people who come over from the near by urgent care (nearby)

That saying, "here today, gone tomorrow",came to mind. (TRY - That saying, "Here today, gone tomorrow, " came to mind.)
One tiny bird of a lady just starts belting out the song Jingle Bells. ('Jingle Bells')
I feel that darkness that had enveloped me begin to fall away. (TRY - I feel THE darkness that had enveloped me begin to fall away.)

I suppose eventually I will get over missing them,(my son Mark and daughter Rhonda), but they were so important in my everyday life for so long it is very difficult to feel joy at all. It was like he was saying. This lady is nearing the end of her life and this little girl has a somewhat difficult road ahead so snap out of it. If they can be merry you can as well. I took notes. Lol. Thanks for this review, Roy. Gretchen
