I liked that Ali could share with Cord that she didn't have the luxury of having close girlfriends even though she did have a luxurious kind of life. It's good that she was kept innocent and that is probably what makes her relationship with Cord works so well.

Barbara. Nice continuation of your story. I had a relationship like theirs a long time ago. Innocent and pure--without the bitterness and cynical thoughts some people have.
One note: there should be a comma after (Standing {,} Nancy......
Great write barbara.
Blessings,
Cindy.

We're getting a "warm" spell up here in PA; it's been close to 40 all last week. I believe the only day it should snow is Christmas. Lol

A lovely romantic episode. Heart- to- heart under the stars was very pleasing to read. Ali now has a lot of reasons to stay in Texas. I am eager to read about the trial..

Thanks Barbara I really enjoyed their discussion on the porch bench and their discussion seemed natural. Bringing up the conversation about where a relationship is up to can be tense and nerve wrecking and I think the playfulness between the two characters worked the scenario well. This one sentence caught me a little by surprise as it was quite abrupt: "When Cordero came back to the dining room, he lifted Alexandra." I wasn't quite sure what "lifted" meant although it should seem obvious except to me the reader it came quite out of the blue. I wondered if something like "When Cordero came back to the dining room, he wrapped his arms about Alexandra's waist, sweeping/lifting her off her feet" - it doesn't have to be that but maybe a little more than just "lifted"? But that might just be me! LOL. Looking forward to reading your next instalment!

I will recheck that area. He lifted her to carry her because of her ankle. Thank you for the kind review.

Very romantic and well written. A softness ebbs over every word, including Codero's peck and his touches. A most enjoyable read and I am glad you have finished your novel.

Finally dating, a couple. Yay! I don't accept that they haven't explored one another just a bit, though. (smiley face here)
No crutches, or wheelchair? They can afford it, and she has to go to the pot.
Nicely written.
Best wishes.

It seems as if Cord is happy to let her say they are exclusive. After finding out why she had no close girlfriends, he is obviously pleased to have her find friends in Texas. That is another reason she might choose Texas instead of returning to New York. This is a very enjoyable chapter as Alex seems to be perfectly at home in the Ortiz home. Two things you might want to look at: . . . crush on Ali, including Chip. . . . discuss, or (are) we . . .

I have read most of this novel and enjoyed every word. You handle the dialogue so well that it seems like the reader is sitting beside the characters. I look forward to your new novel. I wish you well with all you do.

So sorry I didn't get to this sooner, but I've gotten really behind in reviewing. I like your references to Ali's past, liking going to a girls' boarding school but coming home every day. She was certainly sheltered, so no wonder she's had trouble with men. I hope Griffin will get what he deserves, but I wonder if you're going to give us a surprise there. Great characterization. judi

Griffin's trial is in my next post. We'll see what happens. Thank you for the kind review. My next post will be Tuesday.

You're welcome. The trial will be interesting. There may be some fancy legal footwork, as Griffin would do everything to avoid prison time. Thanks for the heads up about Tuesday. judi

The realistic dialogue is the star attraction of this chapter. There's lots of polish on it, it reads like dialogue I might have heard on TV. It would make a good screenscript. I think what's also great about it is that there's lots of emotion moving just under the surface and you have all these great details of her patting the seat next to her offering him to sit there, and him giving her those affectionate pecks on the cheek. estory
