I like the image of Santa praying before he goes on his journey. This is a poem that brings forth good feelings. Your lines are smooth and I also like the image of Santa giving the gift of love. Excellent poem for Christmas.

Hi Deb, When I saw the statue of Santa kneeling to pray I loved it. In my mind there was no doubt he did this on Christmas Eve, before he set out to deliver his gifts. I'm so glad you enjoyed both the scene and the poem. Thank you so much for reviewing! :o) Helvi

I did enjoy your sentiment here. It's hard to find a balance and blend between the Christmas that celebrates our faith and Christ's both and the secular fun, magic and fantasy that delights a child's mind. I always write Santa letters to my kids reminding them of God's love. A poem with a lovely feel and heart.

Hi Teri, . I knew a Teri 7 years a go on Fan story. She wrote beautiful poetry. I don't know if you remember me. Though I go by Helvi my real name is Nancy. The Teri I knew suffered a great loss when a love interest in the military died. I think that person is you. If it is I'm so glad I found you again. If that person is not you, there's always room for new friends.... I'm so glad you enjoyed what I wrote. Thank you for the lovely review! :o) Helvi2 aka Nancy

Because I saw my father bring in presents early on Christmas morning, I have never believed ever since, he really is an excuse for not believing in God, and he replaces God in people's hearts, everybody knows he's just a myth, but remain dishonest, a replacement for God I told my girls he didn't exist early in life, and it didn't deter the wonder one little bit. Beautifully written, a lovely poem, blessings Roy

Hi Roy, Santa may be a myth, but we can make him into the person we want him to be. I like to think of the man in this myth to be very
caring and loving. I think that's the true spirit of Christmas! If you gave your daughters a lot of love, you gave them the best present of all! Thank you for the wonderful review and your thoughts! Wishing you and yours a wonderful new year! :o) Nancy

I guess one doesn?t need a myth to understand Christmas, it was a pagan festival anyway, it seems we want to give God a lot of other names, like Santa, Mother Nature, providence or chance, anything but the certainty he is. Santa dominates entertainment, it?s really taken God and Christ out of it, kids don?t need an adult concept to imagine, they have bundles of that anyway, but at least they?ll know the difference between myth and reality, eventually Christ will be smothered, which is happening.

Your poem reads very smooth, kind of like ice cream. The meaning and intent are easily understood by one of any age. And a fun read for that age group as well. Nice.

This is a true story, no doubt, why else would this tradition last throughout the years. With your verse, you have invited us to remember that Santa does represent the love we all wish to give and receive at Christmas, that begins with our love for the Savior born on Christmas day. Lovely poem.
