Another nice chapter. Still waiting for the invention. This chapter reminded me of a gal I played Euchre with. Don't know if I spelled that right. Anyway, fun games and everyone was competitive, no matter the skill level.

Thanks for the good review. I'm afraid you'll have to wait until Part 3 for the invention, though!

It'll be worth it when we get there!

As they say, what happens to E.J. is in the lap of the god's, or should we say God. What an interesting story, I would suggest it could be a love story, it wouldn't be the first time it happened, take Charlie Chaplin for instance. Booze wasn't mentioned in this episode, Beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Oh, so you're looking for Abby and E.J. to fall in love? We'll see what happens fairly soon.

This is very interesting. I was hoping we got to see them in action playing bridge and winning or sweating through it. Maybe, in your final draft.
So, as Abby goes back to school, will the scene shift to her POV and we follow her?
Good work.

Your input is interesting. In my earlier drafts, I spent a lot more time in the bridge sections (and golf sections), but too many people that aren't familiar with these games have told me they zoned out and skimmed through them. Consequently, I tried to pare them down. I will say that there will be two more bridge sections that will have more interesting things happening in them than these ones to date.
In answer to your last question, not quite. We will see some of her then, but a big part of her story will come when she returns to Brentwood next summer, as well as in most of Part 3 which takes place a few years later. Part 2 that we are in now is mainly E.J.'s story.

This can't be the end of the affair between Abby and EJ! He needs to guard the lucky ball! She is so charming that I can't believe some other guy will step in! hope you and the family have a great holiday!
