Thanks for setting up the Alliteration prompt and for your nice review. I was not going to enter it - I think I did on the last day - but then I said, "Reese, you're a Texan! Alliteration is an important
part of our skill set!" So, a nice cabernet, something sassy but not obtrusive and a few hours later, shazaam! It was fun. Merry Christmas to you and yours. BTW, I am an golden golfer. However, I have not managed to score a giggling young gal. And, the grumpy woman who I'm married hates golf!

I loved the humor, the rhyme, the alliteration in your piece. As you have rightly said, many households have the same story. I thought I would share this poem with my husband but I am having second thoughts now as he will get more ammunition against me. Haha. And I very much doubt you are as humble a reporter as you claim to be haha. As funny as this poem is, I have to say my sympathies lie with your wife hahaha.
A side note - I found the font here slightly hard to read.
Good luck with the contest. My first 6 stars of the week !

Gayle and I have been married 45 years. I asked her if she thought great sex is what has kept us together. She said she couldn't remember. We agreed that the desire and ability to laugh together was key. So, share with your husband and enjoy a laugh! Thank you for reading and laughing at my poem. It was so much fun to write. The last verse was a late addition which I think gave the ending twist.

Extensive use of alliteration here! It certainly meets the demands of the competition! A little tongue in cheek I suspect as suggested by the last line!

Your enthusiastic review is most welcome and your assumption that the last line is "tongue in cheek" is more "tongue out at she", but do not quote me! Thanks and Merry Christmas! (Full disclosure: this report based on 45 years of marital "bliss".

I read this more than once trying to understand the style of alliteration. Not being a very smart guy, I'm still confused. But I liked what you wrote and based on the instructions, seems you wrote a very nice entry. Good luck.

Well, if yu agree that I followed the rules, that confirms what I thought. I did get something on every line. I could not have made it every word. I just don't know that many words! Thanks for stopping by.

Not knowing many words is why I write very short verses. 🥴
