Hi Jim! I'm jumping right in here at Chapter 19 and you have me enthralled! It's a great stand alone chapter with enough details to have an understanding of character, excellent sense of mystery and intrigue that is left partially resolved but wondering what happens next with this strange ball. Who knew a golf ball would have me so fascinated!! Now that I have a few weeks holidays I can spend some more time on stories and prose side of the fence. So happy I popped by to read.

A good continuation from the last chapter. I didn't think people actually went for walks at night to clear their heads except TV shows like cops. I was waiting for E.J. to get stopped.

Next, you'll have to have him try with a different ball. It would be logical to wonder if it was the ball or him.

You've raised a very interesting point. Is it the ball, or is it him? Hopefully, by the end we will know.

Thanks for the good review and for continuing to follow the story.

"Some Call It Luck" tells the story of a caddy who plays gold when he can and hits the shot of a lifetime. He's a young man, and a bourbon drinker, and in the middle of the night he can't sleep because he thinks he may have imagined the amazing shot, and the story winds on...This excerpt is well written and artfully places hints about the where and who of its main character. The golfing inclusions seem accurate to the sport. The author's positioning of two paragraphs to introduce "Some Call It Luck" permits easier reading.

I love this chapter. It is very easy to follow and the tense is built up as I continue to read.

The story is amazing although I doubt that really can happen. Having said that, life is full of surprises.

I like the character of J.E. He was determined and acted on impulse. Lucky 1 is his goal.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. Let's see if E.J. can ever really figure out the mystery of that ball.

Thanks you so much for the good review.

Having played one round of gulf in my entire life I know the difference between playing to conditions one day and then playing on another, the conditions change, as in any other sport played in the open. (Perhaps that's why they call it an open, heh heh) but that's not what this is about. Good excuse that, "someone moved the hole" excellent story Jim, blessings Roy

Despite the conditions, the ball somehow found its way to the "hole." What's going on here? Not sure I really know (and I wrote it!)

Thanks for the good review, Roy.

Heh heh, that?s the thing, I?ve sometimes wondered how words appear on the page.

Again, the following chapter is in line with the previous one and the plot keeps moving. I like the suspense before each time he takes the lucky ball from his pocket.
Nicely tied up story.
