This is a perfect chapter. Yes, he does sound like he has brains, he simply will not exercise it. Too much trauma at the wrong phase of his development, and he is smart enough to know it.

The story is coming together nicely. I'm I think three chapters in and the charectors are beginning fall into place for me as the backgrounds in each chapter reveal more about them.
