It sounds like a fabulous theme for a story, the job our hero was doing, was very similar to a job I was doing some years ago, in a plastics manufacturing company, after being self employed for years, I had lots of time to think, beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Hey, Roy, thanks for the good review. I once had the exact job I described when I worked temporary jobs for Manpower. Fortunately, it was only a 1-day job. Believe it or not, the missing trunk key story also happened to me.

This is an good short piece that creates for the reader a bored, self-critical young man who drinks too much and falls asleep on his terrifically boring factory job. E.J., the central character, seems to have accepted his dysfunctional status in the world; when he is fired for falling asleep, he thinks about caddying as a next job, which, he thinks, doesn't require punching a time clock. I caddied briefly, and to get the loops you had to get to the caddyshack early, like 6a.m. I hope that further along in this story, E.J. selects a more promising road map for his future or faces dramatic events that compel him to come alive.
