We have a lot to be thankful for living in the United States.
Today we have fresh clean air and water.
Most people have a substantial job and a roof over their heads.

This read well and flowed well with no Grammar Issues.

I live in the state of New Jersey.
And, according to statistics more than 650,000 people in New Jersey.
Yes, unfortunately face hunger every day.
And, approximately 175,000 of them are children.
When they don't have enough food to eat?
Yes, they can suffer direct dramatic effects on their physical development as well as mental well-being.

Note: In the entire world.
828 million people are struggling and starving.
