An excellent poem, Everett, about mankind's ultimate challenge.
Sweet rhymes and generous internal rhymes. Deep thought and careful word selection. The bits I found religious in nature threw me a bit, but that may just be my bent.
I fully endorse your intellectual argument. We can fix this--as soon as we realize traditional bickering is just busy work.
Well done, Everett.
Peace, Lee

Excellent poem causing the reader to stop and reflect on the beauty of nature that truly does surround us everyday.
Very nicely done.

"Activate the Intellect" endeavors to specify a disposition that will inspire development and provide a home for intelligence. This is an enormously challenging theme, but this poem's author devotes seven stanzas of three seven-beat couplets to propose that beauty, nature, and respect for prophets are three things that provide a fertile field to sow the seeds for understanding. This approach to wisdom reminds me of Wordsworth, and the glory of Romantic poetry's reverence for feeling creates a powerful flame within the reader. I think that this is what this poem aspires to enkindle. Of course, as philosphers, we all know that feeling is not to be trusted, and cannot be the basis of a best epistemology.

Nature is the teacher of mankind. Passing her without watching her beauty and the lessons she brings is not going to teach man how to listen. She is unique, can heal herself, give so many gifts freely if only man will sit with her and watch her progress. Learning from her is far more profitable than reading a 'how to' book. K xx

We seem to have lost the power to address the balance these days and human kindness is at an all time low. Yet something happened to me today that gave me renewed hope in humanity, a well rhymed and metered poem with a fine sentiment Tom, love Dolly x

My intellect requires a hard burn ever so often. Not always sure where that will come from but a history lesson in verse sometimes does the trick. The key is reading such work when the mind is ready. Nice work.

This poem has excellent meter and rhyme. I like the way you have presented the meter. I had to dig a little to get the full message but finally got it.

Yet another wonderful poignant piece of poetry my friend. I think this line is the key, 'one day the earth, in beauty, shall be healed'. At the moment it certainly is rebelling! How much can man take from it's core before there is some sort of consequence? 'So activate the intellect', never a truer word be said! Hugs Franky

Incredibly beautiful. You managed to pull all the essence of time together. If we focus on good, meditate on strength and practice happiness, we will indeed find balance. Mankind needs balance. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. Gretchen
