As a veteran this is a good poem to recognize us. The font size is great. The message of honor and gratitude is clearly stated.
The brown is so dark the red and blue text does not show up as well as it could. To make your vertical word stand out I would make each beginning letter of each line white.
I would also make the poem box larger. Drop the first line down one space and go to the last word of the poem and hit enter twice and your poem box would be larger. Your visual is perfect. Good luck in the contest if it is not over.

I liked this Rhyming Acrostic very much. It had a nice pattern to follow in each stanza. I loved that you used the red, white, and blue to separate them too. The image you used was true to everyone as well.

People with perception can look at the way he stands, the way he walks, the respect in his manner when talking to those he has respect for. It stands out like a badge, or an aura that is discernible. I was honorably discharged in 1964, and people will ask me after all this time, If I were ever in the military? I will of course answer in the affirmative

Roger that my friend, I too served from1968 to 1974. My wife always always points out I stand "like I am standing at ease" with my hands interlocked behind my back. I?m don?t eve realize I am doing so? I still get tears whenever I hear taps played.

They do such a good job on those of us who survive the training that we never forget or lose it. I do believe that the training could save our lives in an emergency which is the whole point.
