Lol. I think you used all those words required and I liked your pun with "I felt wurst when his sausage like fingers." I wonder if those words were chosen because they would be hard to use as end rhymes.

You did deliver a likable rhyming poem. It brings about the words: pickle sausage, orange, Scrooge, and Doodle. When you see the word Scrooge, a person does think of Christmas.

Lol, this conjured all sorts of very dodgy images in my head and let me feeling slightly frightened of sausages. Those blonds are always dangerous, regardless any other consideration! This was lots of fun :-)

Winning for me is getting the reader to feel the emotion that I intended. I agree that there is not a lot of substance pieces on the site. I would like to see more novel related contest. The Haikus and short poems do seem somewhat easier. With this format I expected that the poems would be silly. That can be good because there are a lot of dark sad people on here suffering from loss. It is also challenging when you are coerced into using words and rhymes in your work. Makes one have to strategize a bit. Thank you for your insightful comments. Hope you smiled at something in my poem. That was my intent and for me would be a win!

You may not know but you can post whatever you please on your own outside a contest by going to WRITE in the tool box and post a poem, book, script or book, at no charge. I do it regularly.
You can also CREATE A CONTEST in the box next to WRITE. I do this occasionally, especially when what I write doesn't fit and I feel the need to share my thoughts. There are minimal fees for this but it's cheap, like three bucks, and your feedback is on the subject YOU select. Tom H
