Oh Ugh! What is it with men? I have two remotes.but neither function. I bought two new keys. Expensive! The keys came with folded paper instructions in, I swear. 6 point font. The keys are -- somewhere. Funny..or not.

Oh thank you for reviewing. Your review made me laugh so much! Yes, I agree - I am sick of instructions written in tiny font which need glasses plus a magnifying glass. Often almost the same colour as the background as well! So you've lost these expensive keys! Oh no. That's bad news.

Hi Wendy,
I'm just wondering, would the battery be low in your remote? A new battery might be the fix. But I went through the same thing, and then miraculously, I recalled the way things were in the "olden days". You just used the key to lock or unlock the car door. Isn't it something that we rely on progress so much we forget why we progressed. We just need to regress! "Revert to a former worse condition".
Nice entry for the "Locked Out!" event!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you, Kimbob! Super review. No, the battery was fine. The plastic casing around the buttons was split and hence the button to press was loose. When the plastic broke, the button fell out. The remote still worked if you could jab the contact point with a sharp pencil or stick! Lol.

Ha ha ha, thankfully this has happened to me a few times and I have just unlocked the car with the key, my car is old and lots of things don't work. I wonder why your husband would not use your remote? I have never understood a man's logic, that is probably because they are illogical! Ha ha ha, you made me smile here Wendy, love Dolly x

Lol. Super review! Many thanks. I think he was firstly just being a man; secondly, trying to be independent; thirdly trying to show "initiative"!

Beautiful! Oh I know the pain of going around and around with a modern problem, only to have a whippersnapper come to the rescue with common knowledge. When they speak of this, and they will ---

Thanks so much Bill! Unfortunately, you are right ... the family joke for years to come! I appreciate the wonderful honour of six stars also.

How funny and so true in so many respects. This was a good read, the husband is like so many men I know and the woman like so many women. Even the grandson, practical and smart, with solutions not considered often by the adults in his life, like so many children I know. These people are all me or people I know. I can relate. You have a feel for humor and you write it well, which isn't easy. I smiled through out this story.

I enjoyed reading your story. I wonder how many other people have this problem, not realizing that you can still open the car with the key. sounds like your husband is very independent, not wanting to use your remote.

Hello Wendy,
I rather wish that cars, like everything else made nowadays, were a lot simpler. Sometimes I get in my car and the display says there is no key, which is wrong. Today I was asked to drive ten miles to my son-in-law's house to jump start his truck. His mother used it yesterday and must have left something on and the battery was dead. When I got there, I lifted the hood on my car and saw that my battery was way up near the windshield with no obvious way to reach the negative terminal. I came home without helping her and had to look up a U-tube video to see how to jump the car. Some things are just too complicated. Well done on your story gal.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Oh dear, what a day you had. Frustrating! I also had someone just say that if you lock the car with a remote and then try to open a door with the key, the alarm sounds. That?s neither logical nor helpful either! Thanks so much for a super review.

This is listed as flash fiction, but it sounds like something that could really happen. Either way, the story is suspenseful, especially when you said your handbag, phone, and your husband's phone were left in the car. Getting in and out of the car seemed like as much of an adventure as the trip. Great story.

Yes, it?s for the flash fiction prompt, but most of it was reality, with some slight fictional exaggeration! Thanks so much for reviewing. Always appreciated.

Our cars will set off the alarm if we used the key after locking it with the remote, perhaps if we locked it with the key...? I've had to replace the battery a couple of times, fortunately we've had spares, beautifully written Wendy, blessings Roy

Set off the alarm! Lol. That would definitely not be helpful either!
Thanks so much for the warning about that. Thanks too for a super review.
