The storm is coming, and hurricane Fiona has already struck Canada's eastern seaboard.

Love your imagery, and the built-in layers of interpretation. That is poetry at its finest.

May the odds be ever in your favour with the Contest Committee.

I'm thrilled to read a poem I understand and really like. I'm not much of a poet so I can appreciate this and don't see it only as a heavenly storm. It seems to have some similarity to what may happen in this country. I hope you didn't use this pen name for your books; no one will ever remember it.

Thanks, Carol. Yes, there is nearly always some sub-text in my poems and you certainly have your finger on one intended meaning. From all this distance away I have been following the goings-on in the US and in particular the flagging fortunes of your former President. In my humble opinion he belongs in jail and he is several steps closer to that fate this week.

When that actually happens. or even when he is merely indicted, there will certainly be a 'storm' of some magnitude. Buckle up.

Now that I see the Steve, your penname
makes sense. I voted for him and now so glad he lost.

I'm more worried about those who would STILL vote for him, even though it is becoming clearer by the day what sort of a man he is.

He was always mean-spirited and totally unable to understand the emotions of others, but he did know something about business and was trying to close our borders.

I don't think it should disqualify you... I hope not. This is a beautiful contest entry, capturing the vastness of your topic in a great way. No corrections or suggestions are needed.
Blessings and best in the contest,
Deb

Very nicely done, Steve. I think the additions make this a firm contender in the competition. The picture goes a long way in helping to set the mood.

Breathtaking, your poem captured fear, giving it wonderful tone. Not only does one feel fear from a physical storm, but also one from within. The picture is perfect for both. You did an excellent job.

This is a powerful poem! The world and the weather have been ripe for such storms and your imagery is excellent!

I don't think any editing completed before the contest is closed affects by out chances with the committee.

This is impressive. I hope they sit up and take notice!

I enjoyed reading your poem about the power of nature, storms, and the power of god, whatever it may be. It's ominous and melancholic.

Yes, I try to keep my stuff accessible, even though there are almost always layers of meaning.

    Nice quote, too!

This is really attention grabbing. The title grabbed me first, the awesome image was frightening and your words were captivating. I think storm could be a metaphor for so much that's going on in the world. Regards, Lilly

    Thanks, Lilly.

Let's hope world events don't end up in the kind of apocalyptic storm described in my words. Despite the poem and recent news out of Russia, i remain optimistic.

If I didn't know you better Steve, I'd swear you'd had an epiphany, and even if one doesn't believe it, all poets touch the divine in their moon influenced reflection of the original light. Well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. Several reviewers seem to see some statement of faith in my words, but I don't see it myself. Just a little musing on how some people feel the world is heading for both literal and figurative storms. I'll stay optimistic for now.
