Alrighty then! I'll stop here for now because I just read this one to my husband who now thinks I'm a loon!

He may have a point as:

"Having a bit of fun ,... hehehe ...

"Asylum is a group of Loons
Asylum is a mental hospital
Loon is a duck
Loon is an insane person
Nut is food
Nut is an insane person"

"I resemble that remark!"

Little factoid: Most will tell you this was a Groucho Marx original, when in fact: "The earliest occurrence that I have found is from The Kansas City Star (Kansas City, Missouri) of Sunday 29th December 1940."

(Thank you wordhistories.net!)

I really enjoyed the picture of the pair of loons with a baby on what I assume is the mother on her back, Gypsy. I appreciate your words and those of your narrative notes. It is truly important that you give the number for the Mental Health line. Blessed be n Hugs!

After I read this poem I smiled, but then felt guilty. Thank you for your author's notes. Now I don't feel guilty for smiling. I have a daughter-in-law who is bi-polar. I do understand the serious of this disease.

Yes, sometimes laughter is the best cure. Being bipolar is really bad for afflicted and their family. But the good news is that with medication we can live a normal life. Unfortunately, for a large portion of my life I refused to take medication.

Thank you for the review and for understanding the poem so well.

Hi Gypsy Queen,
so, you hit all three of my most appealing traits... wild-wild. Okay, not so much these days. Loon looking for his place in this world... and well, I'm not touching, or breaching the third field of subject.

You are very clever with your wordplay here Reina Gitana.
A very cute pic let's hope they all found their asylum.

I'm just taking it all as humour as your notes suggest.

Amor, respeto besitos y abrazos mi amiga.

With our thoughts we create...
places of solace.

Kind regards,
James.

James, my favorite bard around here,

I was feeling silly yesterday. Once in a while I give my serious muse a break. (*+*)

I give myself permission to joke about mental illness because I had it for so long. Being bipolar is not funny but making fun of oneself helps sometimes. You know?

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem.

Yes Gitana Reina, one has to look on the light side of things where and when possible... to be stuck in the seriousness of dis-ease all of the time would drag the life-force right out of one's soul. I love that you have this humorous side of you that can break through the cracks to see the light Mi Gitana Lobo Reina. Life is way too short to be caught in the quagmires of despair.

Lol. I like all your puns. Asylum could be refuge or a place for people with mental illness and nuts could be the food or people who are acting crazy. And of course, loons could be the birds or loony people, too!

Gypsy,

This is perfect. Pleased that your notes amplified the meanings for the loon collective. Of course, in today's PC environment, it likely is not encouraged to use nuts and loon(y) for a person who may suffer from mental illness. Asylum is another word that is not used in today's lexicon for where these same individuals may live.

But for poetry, it is fine post!

LoL. I know it was not politically correct but I'm a loony too. I didn't think about it. Maybe I'll add a note.
