Looks like an old English castle tower. They have one that looks a lot like that in East County, California. I didn't see any grammatical errors. Thanks for the story, it was interesting!
Keep up the good work!

An interesting piece that certainly fits well within the prompt. I especially enjoyed the relevance to your high school days, the races, the dance parties and the Saturday nights for lovers - who later used it as a backdrop to their wedding photos.

Gunner,
This is an excellent Sense of Place Short Story writing prompt entry. Your choice of place serves as an perfect subject for this wonderfully story recollecting your experiences visiting Castle Craig. You've accurately described this monument and its historic, practical and romantic significance brilliantly in this short write. Well done.
All the best in the contest,
Eugene

Hello Gunner a good day to you. I hope this review finds you well. As a poet/writer it is always interesting to see the different takes on these contest/writing prompts. I think your take is definitely a good one. Hopefully so will others, good job and good luck in the contest.

You've succeeded in describing this place well. Adding history, and personal ancetdotes about your high school days, along with the many uses of the grounds of the castle, were very supporting descriptors.

This is a sentimental, and informational post, an interesting combination.
You did a great job with the prompt, a successful narrative.
Castle Craig sounds like a special place holding fond memories for you.
Your writing is descriptive, colorful, and intelligent.
Thanks for sharing.

This sounds like an interesting place to visit, Gunner. You've done a good job of describing the layout of the land and the history. The fact the parking lot was used as a dance place in your teen years makes the memory special. Good luck in the contest.
One little spag: "...start at the park and continue(s) to a halfway..." remove the 's'

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and know this is a place I would enjoy visiting. I can tell the high school kids had from there. I was surprised that the picture was taken in 2002 by a park drone. I thought back then only the military had use of drones.

I thought I'd seen a castle Craig in Scotland, but I may be mistaken, there is a Castle Crag in NSW Australia, but anyway, it sounds like a marvellous place, but perhaps not in winter, this is beautifully written, blessings Roy
