I like the rhyme and cadence of this story told in a poem. It's creative and humorous, and your chosen artwork pairs perfectly and adds to the reader's experience. My favorite line is, "I've met my share of losers; oh the things that I've found out." The poem then takes a turn and has a happy ending. Best wishes in the contest.

You are always so kind and I can't thank you enough for the lovely comments & review. My ending was the only nonfiction part as that was for my husband of 48 years. : ) Thank you again my dear friend!

Love is like a lottery, one doesn't know if you're going to win or not, I love that line from gone with wind thst Rhett Butler made to Scarlett, O'Hara, and it echoes down through the years still, this is a super poem, articulate, well rhymed and smooth, well done, blessings Roy

Roy, you are always so kind and I can't thank you enough for the lovely comments & review. Lol, actually my first boyfriend was the best kisser I ever had, but found out years later that he was gay. I tend to get teased about being the reason for that when my husband thinks he's funny! Haha!

I loved this one, it was well written, perfect rhyme, and very funny. I'm glad you ended with one that you thought was worth giving a damn for! Very well done, and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra

The last sentence is a neat twist on your recurring theme of "I don't give a damn." It takes all kinds, doesn't it? But don't curse men because of one. My experience was very similar, but it was my woman who was the "I don't give a damn."

Very nice and poetically just!

A delightful romp with you in this Love Bites contest. You have arrived at discernment which is really necessary in a world where Love Bites is often the way of this world.

Well done and good luck,
Blessings

Ouch, I can only pray these events were fictitious and you found true love somewhere other than buried in a romance novel. ..................................................

and there we are again, a pair of peas in a pod. My wife says the same of another guy whose kisses were sweeter than wine, and I don't see how she can say that since she has NEVER imbibed an alcoholic beverage. Also, being an AVIS to Hertz isn't all that bad for I was at least profitable. I doubt the other He was.

Nice job. I don't think I have ever met a person who has not experienced an unpleasant love situation. The early years are usually full of these scenarios.

Your well-written poem vividly describes the rocky journey of one looking for love--plodding through a string of situations that ended badly . . . and then finding one that has real promise.

I really loved the artwork you chose for this poem. The Frankenstein monster and his bride is fantastic. The poem seems to fit all of the qualifications. Great job and best wishes in the contest.
