Good title and a good choice of the picture!

The opening paragraph: My heart is broken
from all those I have lost
my angst mounting
as my country writhes
in the throws of death."
reminds me of
"Covid has killed so many people worldwide."

It is both sad and scary.

Thanks for sharing

You have very effectively put forth your feelings in a short poem. I have those same feelings. As we near the end of our mortal life, we fear for the future of the young ones.

A well-written but sad poem. It seems as if you feel hopeless for better days to come. The visual fits well. I feel the font size could be larger for easier reading. Overall, a well-written and presented poem.

Your last line brought tears to my eyes. What a lovely poem of mourning and loss, but simultaneously shows weaves in much grace and mercy. I love poems that are so emotional and use the perfect word choice to paint unique images in the reader's mind to evoke those images. Lovely job!

Hi Lovnpeace,
although there is a deep sadness over-riding the shade in this poem, there is also a resounding calmness of acceptance that shines through in a knowing of protected faith.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I appreciated the presentation and composition... I appreciate the sentiment behind the words, it is beautiful.

With our thoughts we create...
a timeless view.

Kind regards,
James.

I hear you. I am the youngest of 13 kids, so I have lost almost all of my twelve siblings, and still I linger. Now I am beginning to lose grandchildren. Lord knows I am ready for my reward. Sometimes it just gets too hard.

Very introspective piece.

There is a wonderful scripture that tells us God will never allow us to be temped above what we're able to stand, sometimes we seem to reach that level, but He reassures us that we won't break, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Yes, the Lord has all our days in His wise and perfect Hands. That's why Moses wrote in Psalm 90, "Teach us to number our days." Though things can look bleak, and we suffer loss here on earth, we know God has it all in His control. Thanks for sharing.

This poem's stanzas use Line breaks well and some vaguely look like an hour glass. The words remind us to be thankful for our time here and for Gog's mercy.
Keep writing and stay healthy
