Barbara, This is a very well written, but sad poem you have penned. You used very good heartfelt, descriptive words. The imagery you chose to go with your words was great. Thank you for sharing my friend. Love and blessings, Teri

Like sands through the hourglass time moves to fast to predict what tomorrow will bring us. We must prepare for the unexpected and what come our way next.

You did a great job with your poem, Barbara. There was smooth
flow and great imagery. I agree. God has a master plan that only
He knows when our time is up. The art choice worked well.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

"God numbers our days
he has been generous
allotting me so many"
Your words are so true, our life is like the sand in the hourglass, passing so quickly. But every day is a gift from God, and so we enjoy it.

I totally get the sentiment here. I, too, am mourning the throes of death of our country. That analogy, or personification, is so fitting. It reminds me that, often, a person is sick and we can do nothing to help them. It's a helpless feeling and that's what your words emote here. You write this with such simple but very effective words. I like your style:) Well done, well said and poignant.
Tina

Yes, so very true. My creeping death is so much less painful to me. Blessings dear Tina. I believe in kiss. keep it simple stupid. Personally I no longer try to decode meanings of poems. Thank you. Barbara

Excellent free verse poem that expresses how you and many feel. I like your last verse about God healing our pain when it becomes too much. Your poetic form is light and brings forth feelings and emotions.

This is a very moving, emotional piece. I wish I knew what country you're from so I could know specifically what's grieving you. The U. S.--which I wouldn't leave for anything--has some type of chaos going on all the time!
Sometimes I grieve, always praying for peace.

Thank you, Janice, The U. S. here also. The "chaos" is more, and more tragic then ever before. Greater, since it is now a deliberate destruction, Blessings, Barbara

as the sands of time
continue to drip away
I wonder if anyone really cares
what I have to say
and sometimes it so hard
just facing another day
you wish life would step to the side
so death can have it's way
but until your time is up
continue living and just play

This is such a beautiful yet sad poem. I like the way it flows and expresses the sentiments of loss, pain, and long life. There is always hope for a brighter day. You've truly captured the emotions that go along with these situations. You say in your profile that you're a new writer. Well, I couldn't tell because you seem like a professional writer to me. Nice job! God bless!
