You are a very special and caring person. It is great to hear there are people who have human compassion. I hate to hear about those people being flooded. Thankfully for people, as you and your friend Jim, people have chances to get out of harm's way. I pray things will get better soon. Thank you for sharing this great post.

Thanks for your good work, both as a poet and as a volunteer. I really like the way you have used a stanzas that are 5-7-5 and each can stand alone. Also like the way you made some stanzas from the point of view of victims and some as from your point of view, though I was a bit confused until I read your explanation. I know sometimes you use different fonts or fonts of different colors.... maybe doing that for this poem would help alleviate any confusion for the reader.

Thank you Katie for reviewing. I actually did make them different colours; the first set are yellow, then the other set are blue, although both are pale in order to stand out from the dark background, which I wanted because of the subject matter.

Yes, I see the different colors of the text now.... sorry I missed it before. I guess they are too subtle for my old eyes!

Thank you Barbara. We all greatly appreciate the prayers. Yesterday, although very cloudy and dark, it did not rain so heavily, which has helped, or at least not worsened the situation. There are over 55 000 displaced people already in various Evac Centres

Thank you Roy. I appreciate your review, and no, it's not a punishment. It's largely a result of some poor decisions re releasing the water from the full dam before we had more rain. The dam is several times the size of Sydney Harbour. But the river was already full too with water from other smaller rivers.

It is sad to deal with nature disaster. You have done an excellent job in describing the disaster situation and how the victims feel about their misfortune.
If it happens to me, I don't think I have enough courage to survive.

Thank you so much, Karenina. I believe we have had an answer to prayer in that today we have had less rain, although the floods are still at an all time record (46 feet above normal levels!), and we have several more days of rain to come.
