I wanted to observe your suggestion to make sure I am not out of sixes. Sadly, I am. I did not know before now just who Mr. Humpwhistle was. Havin learned of his true identity, I am overwhelmed to have been blessed to have had my work reviewed by him and I was not slaughtered. Imagine that. This makes me feel like I am writing with other great writers who are reading and reviewing my work as well. The pressure s on and I love it.

I've never sponsored a contest here, though I've been lingering about here since 2007.
I like your suggestion, however-- And no need to ban Lee from entering.
He'd be the last to blow his whistle!

As a writer/poet for a whopping 5 months, I feel privileged to be on the same platform as Mr. Humpwhistle, along with the others you listed. I always feel pretty intimidated to review his work, I mean who am I to say anything?

Your praise is well placed. Lee is indeed a wonderful writer for the characteristics you describe. I read his work and respect its quality so much that I hardly ever review it, knowing I have little to say but praise, certainly no suggestions for improvement, so I prefer to spend time reviewing others' work who might find my words useful.

Katharine, I am referring to the generic "Who." There are a lot of great writers here, but only one Humpwhistle. I can confirm he is trying to deny he is Lee Child, but I have never seen them in the same room. Thank you for reading, I hope it is fun for everyone.

No, from reading Lee's childhood stories, I'm quite sure that our Lee is not Lee Child who is British. Although Humpwhistle doesn't put periods after "Mr" and "Mrs" as is British style, he seems to have grown up in Boston...

Yes, There's no question that Lee is the best writer on site and we can all learn from him. But that doesn't mean there's not a lot of other good writes, who have all developed their own personal style. Good luck in the contest. Ulla:)))
